Tomorrow night at 10pm we will be performing emergency network maintenance on our core networking devices. Firstly, we will be swapping in a new core router for our entire network. This will result is a brief periods of non-connectivity for the entire TotalChoice Network. We do not anticipate this outage to last longer than 10 - 30 minutes, however we are giving a 2 hour maintenance window to complete this work. At the same time we will be conducting other improvements to our network. I will be posting a complete thread on our new network sometime later tonight. In this thread I will go over all the improvements we are making to our network and the impact that these improvements will have on our client base. These upgrades are going to really improve our capacity and will add additional fail over components for network up-time. Even though our network up time has been stellar, there is always room to improve on what we have in place and this is what we are doing at this time. Anyways, enough rambling on here. Follow ups to come later tonight on the rest of the upgrades taking place.

It looks like to me your domain name has been hijacked. I reviewed the Whois History for your domain name and see that you were listed as the owner on 12-21-2009. Then it appears just as of today the domain name has been placed into another individuals name. So something is not right. Here is the WHOIS as of now: Registrant: Phil Charais 2817 Whitegate Dr Fort Wayne, IN 46805 United States Domain Name: JDANNIEL.COM Created on: 19-Dec-06 Expires on: 19-Dec-10 Last Updated on: 30-Jan-10 Administrative Contact: Charais, Phillip Phil Charais 2817 Whitegate Dr Fort Wayne, IN 46805 United States 2604023687 Fax -- Technical Contact: Charais, Phillip Phil Charais 2817 Whitegate Dr Fort Wayne, IN 46805 United States 2604023687 Fax -- Domain servers in listed order: NS57.DOMAINCONTROL.COM NS58.DOMAINCONTROL.COM Please contact our domain partner at the following number: 24x7 Technical Support U.S. (480) 624-2500 24x7 Billing Support (480) 624-2515 Any one in the support team can assist you. Let me know what happens and if you need help resolving this. It was not any error on the part of our domain partner, it simply appears your domain was hijacked or expired, entered redemption and was resold. The domain team will assist you. You should call asap to sort this out. Bill -
Most likely the bridge is overheating due to this. I would attempt to affix some cpu cooler on the chip and reset the cooler. See if this helps at all.

Hey Gang, How are things looking ?

Were looking into this again.

Hey Gang, Please let me know if your still having these js inserts occuring, I do believe we kicked the server enough times to have finally fixed it. I will give you a complete explanation of the events and how we corrected it once I get some feed back.

Yes, in fact we can set you up with special reseller discounts if you purchase more than one dedicated server. We work with our resellers. If you host a spammer, we would work with you to terminate the account of the spammer, but not your account. SSH is available on all dedicated servers. We are pretty flexible on our unmanaged servers. If you need help installing a software application or need help with security updates, as long as your requests are reasonable we will normally handle these for our resellers at no cost to them. Each server comes with 5 IP Addresses. If you need more they are typically free as long as you can provide justification. SFTP can be setup up on our dedicated servers, this is not a problem. Thank you for your business.

Q: Warning, Viewing This Site May Harm Your Computer?
Head Guru replied to jbach's topic in Security Discussions
This is becoming the most common form of site defacement these days. In the past hackers would love to leave a note on someone's home page saying "Hacked by". Today the attackers are using the exploited sites to further infect of windows based pc's. We have been doing quite a bit of research into this and will be publishing a report in the next few days with some ways to prevent this and other attacks. I was told years ago, the safest thing to do to protect your data is to unplug your computer from the internet. -
Your FTP password was compromised. We have replied to your help desk ticket showing you the FTP logins. I will work with you thru the help desk ticket and provide you more details. The server is secure, this was a account level compromise.

Site is loading fine for me. Are you still having these issues?

Hey guys Wanted to chime in here. The past two weeks have been awful from a TCH operational viewpoint. First we had the large DDOS attack against our network that lasted for several days. This was mitigated and the client that was the star of the DDOS attack left TCH and went to another host. This attack resulted in many blips over the network. This has been corrected and the attack is since over. This past Friday we once again started to see some network issues. There was a routing issue for several inbound routes over XO and Level 3. This was finally diagnosed and corrected late in the day on Friday. However, this once again resulted in blips across the network. I am hoping we are past all these issues, and we can run into a another 2-3 year run of solid 99.99+% up time. I hope this explains some of the issues everyone has been facing. If you have any questions please feel free to let me know.

Update - The server owner that has been under attack has decided to cancel service with TotalChoice. Good Morning, Good Afternoon - GOOD NIGHT! We provided her many years of faithful service and .... whatever. I have powered down the server and this event is behind us. The attack is still on going, however we are filtering the inbound traffic. Just wanted to updated the family.

Hello TCH Family, I wanted to give a status update and inform the family of a network event that has been on going for the past 36 hours. Starting on May 31st at around 10:30am a dedicated server client that we have hosted for several years has been the target of a Distrubuted Denial of Service attack. The client is a simple mom and pop online store selling jewlery and jewelry accessories and has never presented any issues to TCH. This attack started off on a small scale and we were able to filter the attack without issue. However during the afternoon hours of May 31 the attack grew to such a size that we were unable to filter the attack and the attack spilled over into our general network causing a 25 minute widespread outage on our entire network last from 3:40pm until 4pm EST on 5/31. At that time we took the drastic measure of null routing all the traffic to this specific server. The null route worked and our traffic levels returned to normal and have been at a normal level until this morning at 5:20am. On June 1st at 10:30am we removed the null route and turned the clients server back online. Traffic remained normal and we had no issues until this morning at 5:20am. The attack resumed and once again effected all the servers/clients on our Distribution Switch #4. At 5:20am we made the call to simply null route the traffic to this server again so as not to effect the overall performance of the network. Our network is very robust. We have multiple carriers entering the data center over diverse paths. However, this attack was so large, at one point measuring over 1gbps of traffic, that the inbound attack was able to congest our entire network for those twenty minutes. For the most part we handled the entire attack without any major interruptions to our overall network. This is simply a update to explain the 20 minute outage to the overall network and to help ease the minds of any clients that have been more effected on the switch that the has been the target of the attack. Whilst this attack is still in progess, we have once again null routed the server that is the target of this attack. I will update this post with any more information as it becomes available to me. Thank you for your patience and understanding during the past few hours.

Last time we painted we used this white wash special paint from Home Depot. Still looks pretty good, eh? Hows the hosting been Josh? Glad to see you stopping by and saying hello to your long lost online family.

We have not reported any DNS issues with NS1 or NS2. If you could open a ticket, we will look into the issue.

$72 For A Two Year Domain Renewal.
Head Guru replied to Nossy's topic in Reviews of TotalChoice Hosting
Sorry for my late reply, I have been out of town doing some needed fish catching and beer drinking. I do believe their is more to the story here, but bottom line is we do not run our business this way. I have asked my team to process a $50.00 credit on your hosting account for this issue. Thank you for your continued support and business. Bill -
Make sure you have passive connection enabled.
