Hi, I edited my htaccess to point to my own folder with loads of error pages in them. One thing you must remember is that SSI and includes do not work with error pages, they must be flat html pages Jim

Hi, Painful life lesson I learnt, the truth always hurts! Possible idea, Can you not create a dummy email account and use that as the "from" account? Set the dummy account space to be 1 meg big if you can spare it. That would at least rule that one out. It really depends how comcast do there mail I suppose. Jim

Hi, It could just be there mailserver. I know that my work server (not TCHs) is painfully slow to recieve emails if they are external. This could be the case on yours Jim

Hi, Can you send it to a non tch address at the same time and see if you still have a problem. The CC should of course work as soon as you send it Cheers Jim

Hi, If people have problems getting into something that requires a password, the best thing to do is to delete your cookies and history. Some times blocking all cookies will cause the same problem Jim

Hi, If you want to use the shared cert, then just parse your pages as: Http://serverX.totalchoicehosting.com/~username/ Where X = server number username = your user name Vistors will be warned that the certificate is not correct as the URL will not match. Its still safe though Jim -
Hi, I would create a 404.html and a 404.shtml and edit the htaccess to point to them. Jim

Hi, My suggestion would be to find a package which is not Frontpage 2002 made by micro$. I believe TCH offers a very good one! Jim

Hi, To clear up any confusion: If you don't want people to browse your files unless there is an index page present then: Select the name of the folder in file manager and select "No Indexes" This will turn off indexing. If you want people to see everything then instead select one of the other indexs option. No, it should not effect squirral 755 is proberley the best universal one. Jim -
Hi, I am not sure what you mean by explaining but here goes: This counts unique IP addresses, so essientially 1622 different people have viewed your site this month This is the number of times that the unique vistors have visted, so some have come back more then once. This is the number of pages they have requested in total. A hit is any retrinal of a file which makes up a page, e.g. a graphic, a picture. These days "hits" are banded about like they are going out of fashion. In reality, they mean nothing, because its not about hits, its about unique vistors Each graphic and page take space. E.g. You have say 10 gigs of bandwidth (10,000 megs). Someone then views your website, and say sees two pages at 30K each. That means the vistor has used 60K (2x30) of your bandwidth. Therefore you have 10,000 megs minus 0.030 megs left for the next vistor and so on. I hope thats what your looking for, if not, let me know and I will try to assist you further Jim

Hi, We do tend to get tickets done as soon as we can do, as keeping our customers happy is high on the agenda of things to do. However, we prefer to answer the tickets right first time, rather then take a hazardous guess and send the user packing, because we know that it will only make them unhappy, so no, we are not ignoring yours or anyother ticket that comes in, but making sure the answer is correct and that you will be happy with it. Apologies if you felt we have been letting you down Jim

Hi, That would require me to be logged into my cpanel which I would rather not do, espically if on a public computer. I do not mind a subdomain being accessed, but I do mind my own cpanel being accessed Jim
-
Hi, I would prefer to just view it as a webpage in a subdomain that I can lock and hide away Jim

Hi, Just to add to jacks post (seem to be having a good reptore with him today) I) Dreamweaver templates stink. II) Also they produce "fat code" which is not needed. Also someoone can tell what you been using III) About the uploading of the pages, its true, every single page would need to be changed. Remember FTP comes off your bandwidth allowance. Includes would mean a single page and a lot less FTP IV) Bad point about includes is that your page will look odd until its on the server. If you have Dreamweaver MX, you can tick the box to make sure includes are shown. Jim
