Hi, Its simple, times the number of videos you think will be streamed by the total size. E.g. I have 3 videos, one is 10 megs big, one is 52 megs big and one is 21 megs big. Total size = 10+52+21 = 83 megs Now say I get a minimum of 1000 unique vistors to my site, and they all watch the videos once, thats a minimum of 83 x 1000 = 83000 megs = 8.3 gigs worth. Now, since vistors may come back more then once and few it several times, your bandwitdh will scorce up big time. E.g. you need loads of bandwidth! Jim

Hi, We send email to our SMTP server through a standard port number. However, some companies and ISPs have blocked this port number in order to stop abuse (that is abuse of the port number, not abuse here at TCH which is not tolerated and met with a boot out of the door). We are unable to change the port number, but there are a few ways to get around this problem. You can still recieve mail even if the port number is blocked. You can find the port number here: http://www.totalchoicehosting.com/help/id21.htm Any further questions? Jim

Ejem... I Dont Know Why This Error Appears

Hi, Databases become corrupted for the same reasons that rail falls from the sky, xmas comes once a year etc etc. It just happens. Most of the time its down to bad bit of coding and the database can't take it so it just falls over. Backups are the nesscary part of life these days unfortuantley. Do try to repair it first though, and if that fails, submit a help ticket and we can use the backup tapes we have to put in a database which will be a day old but least it wont mean you loose everything! Hi, Having access to the largest pipe in the Uk means that the front page loads fine however i have the same problems as everyone else. What is wrong could be any of the following: 1) The button is flash. Nothing wrong in that, but if the button is set up wrong in the flash, it will cause the error. Most likely its this 2) Your trying to open a "chromeless" window which IE 6 won't let you do any longer and it times out 3) You should always provide an simple, none grahic, none flash, bog standard HTML link to the next page. 4) If it was me, I would redo the front page offering users either a "lowband" access without the flash, or a "Highband" access with all the nuts and bolts on it. What page is it supposed to open? Jim

Trouble Installing Oscommerce Php

Hi, Open up mysql in cpanel and see whether the user is added to the database. If its not, it will produce the error you have. You will also need to check the password too. Also, i think it should have @localhost and not your IP address Let us know how it goes Jim -
Hi, That one I am not 100% sure on, but what I would do, is not delete it, but download it (so i have a copy), delete it and see what happens. If it don't create a new one, then I would know that I would have to make my own blank file for it. Jim

Hi, Whilst we allow streaming, remember it will eat into your bandwidth like there is no tomorrow. Standard methods/protocols. Jim

Hi, If you have a mate with a computer, go around there, with the latest drivers and your normal print cable and install it. Then try printing. If it does work, its your mobo. If it don't work, swap the printer cable over. If that works, its the cable. If that don't work, we know its your printer, in which case, you would need to get it looked at. Here in the uk, if the printer goes wrong and its one of the sub £200 ones, its cheaper to buy a brand new printer then get it replaced. Jim

Hi, 1) You can not choose your server. 2) Location wise on the net, whether its east coast or west coast, Britain, Japan, Russia etc makes no difference. What does make the difference is the server its hosted on, but since TCH uses the best servers around (just got to love the new ones that Head Guru brought a few weeks back), it should not be a problem. 3) We all have our goofy moments! Jim

It would not be a problem Jim

Hi, You database has proberley become corrected. You will either need to rebuild it, or do it from backup. The latter being the easiet and safest option Jim -
Jack, If I use: >include $_SERVER['DOCUMENT ROOT']."inc/footer.php"; What is document root pointing at, and does it work for subdomains going back to the main domain? Cheers Jim

Hi, It should only count thoose two twice, as they should have only come from one computer address each, unless they hit you on mulitple days. However, depending on the setup, it may have counted them more, depending on how they downloaded your site. I suggest you block them using htaccess so other people can not do it. The counter on your front page is unrealiable. Jim
