Hi, Favicon is a icon that IE looks for when people bookmark your site. Its a small 16x16 gif graphic which you place in your root folder and when people visit in IE it pops up where the current "e" in the URL bar is now. Robots.txt is a text file that some robots look for when indexing your site. You can tell them where to look and what to index although note that not all robots will follow your instructions Both can be found by having a quick google Jim

Invision Board Install & Some Questions
TCH-JimE replied to jscfan's topic in CPanel and Site Maintenance
Hi, Long before I ever came here, I too was a proboards member, and when I started my new phpBB board here, It took about 2 megs a day, hardly anything so I would not worry about bandwidth. One thing I did do, just so I could track more carefully was to make the forum folder a sub domain folder so that I can track with AWstats a lot more closer. IPB and phpBB both have an offline system There are lots of us here who have forums on our own site so help will not be a problem Jim -
MoonFaery I did have a good search on Friday for this but was unable to turn up anything suitable that you could use. I do suggest you try Mitch's idea or check out that other script too Jim

Hi, I would use like turtle suggests, includes which would save you a lot of hassle. Can I also suggest that you optimize the image on the front page, haveing a 160K picture as the first thing to load will take quite a few seconds on a 56K connection and some people may be turned away by this Jim

Sobig Virus Transferring From Horde Without Click?
TCH-JimE replied to musicfrisk's topic in CPanel and Site Maintenance
Well if you are (actually this can go back to ME, so thats ME, 2000 and XP), its because its re-infecting itself from System restore. You will need to give yourself permissions to the restore area in order to delete the infected virus. You might even have to go to Tools>Folder Options>View>Advanced settings and untick the "hide operating system files". I suggest you run a full virus sweep across your systems after doing this and set your virus scanner up to sweep for viruses from net downloads. You may also have to look at the security permissions inside of IE too and change some of these if they are too relaxed. Jim -
Sobig Virus Transferring From Horde Without Click?
TCH-JimE replied to musicfrisk's topic in CPanel and Site Maintenance
Hi, You can not get a virus simply by looking at the file on your screen (not opening it up that is) in horde. Its logistically impossible. However, what I am guessing is that your running XP. Am I correct? Jim -
Although you often see it being referred to as 1000mb Jim

Possible Future Customer...got A Few Questions
TCH-JimE replied to jscfan's topic in Pre-Sales Questions
Hi, You should recieve your welcome email within 12 hours. If its beyond 24 hours then please let us know and we can resend it out to you Jim -
Hi, The reason being I was unable to tell you is that I was unsure of your method of payment, it would look rather stupid if I told you one thing, only to find its another, hence I like to wait until I know. Right, basically submit a help ticket to the help desk, they will provide a link for you to pay for the upgrade to the account you want. To work out how much it will cost, deduct from the cost of your new account, the cost sof your old account. Jim

Hi Emil and Welcome to TotalChoiceHosting forums, Apart from the basic reseller account, yes, and yes. Otherwise you can always use our own reseller name servers which have no branding on them. Yes you can do, although I don't know the price of IPs 3. Another Guru will have to answer this for you If your limit is reached, your account becomes suspended. You should receive a warning at 80%. If your customers go over, there account becomes suspend too and you will have to deal with it. Remember, you can not sell short on bandwidth space. Nope thats all upto you, as noted above, there account will become suspended until you unsuspend it. You must only sell what you have, you cant sell dynamically. E.g. if you have 10 gig of bandwidth for all of your accounts, all the accounts alloted bandwidth must add upto 10 gig, you can't oversell knowing that they won't use it all up. If you did this, you would need 1 reseller package for every account. As there is no such thing as "unlimited" you should mention how much bandwidth there is. Saying "unlimited" is the quickest way to get a user who will use up your bandwidth allowance within a day! Its off and I suggest you look at this page here: http://www.totalchoicehosting.com/help/info.php Yes 10. Another Guru will have to help you here 11. Another Guru will have to help you here You can add your banner at the top but that is it. Please do ask as many as you need, we are here to help! Jim

Hi, Have you payed monthly or in one big sum? Jim
-
Hi, Intresting, 1st Its not a problem to do it that way 2nd No i dont think the forum will care whether its a .co.uk or a .org or whatever, just make sure you cahnge the settings in the admin setup Jim
-
Hi, Its very easy, 1st submit a help ticket stating that you wish to upgrade your account. Then (depending on how you pay) either money will be refunded back to you and then you pay for the new amount or you just change the monthly amount you pay. We then click a button, sit back and have a coffee and the server upgrades the account for us, and we email you back telling you its all done. Jim

Pixel, Go into CPANEL and then select Mysql option. You will need to create a database and add a user to it. Remember to write down the user name and database name and the passwords. You will need this to enter into the setup. If you still have a problem, then please, do start a help ticket! Jim

Hi, You will find that because of the domain name not being transferred, you may have to set the cookie part of phpBB to a different name, don't worry, it wont damage the board or anything. As borfast said, if you got any more questions about phpBB, you know where to come! Jim

Possible Future Customer...got A Few Questions
TCH-JimE replied to jscfan's topic in Pre-Sales Questions
Hi, Whilst I don't know the exact answer to that, I do know its more then 3 years now. Also with the amount of experience that all the Gurus and technicans bring to the company, I would say our web hosting experience easily stretches into the upper hundreds of years! Jim -
Hello Serge, At present this is not a possible option, although Bill (our Head Guru) is often prompted to think about it! Jim

Hi, Yes that information should be in the welcome email Jim -
Hi, The last vistor just basically shows you the last files that your last vistor required, say to view a page on your site, so this could be your index page with 3 graphics on there. Jim

I actually proved this myself by closing one of my email accounts and setting up a new one for all emails that are not sent to my correct address. 2 days later about 30 emails "supposiblely" originating from my now desceased account had been sent after the account which had been closed for two days. Its a sneaky virus! Jim

A 404 would suggest that something referencing a file has not got the correct pathway. I do strongly urge you to use the mail script developed here at TotalChoice Web Hosting Jim
