I just went to the website and I can see the images in the website now. So I think you have got it now. If you log in to Administrator and see the button Admin Tools select that and then scroll towards the bottom and click on Version Check, it will show there are some little problems, which have to do with folders that need to be CHMOD to allow the scripts to write to certain directories. There is also one file missing which isn't a huge problem but should be uploaded. I would also suggest that you update to the current version which is 1.4.6, when you have that done, you will be set and then can do what ever you want with the themes. Have a look on sourceforge coppermine website and you will find quite a number of themes that others have put up for people to download and install, I personally use the Digital Flow theme over the others, I just like the way it is displayed.

Bruce, DanVoyales has confused the installation of Coppermine and he needs to uninstall it and follow the normal install into a sub direcory under his domain name. You know that I know that but he hasn't picked up on that, hopefully he will after my last post.

Coppermine needs to be installed into a direcotry under the domain name not before the domain name like sub domain. You need to let it install into http://www.danvoyles.us/ when you are installing Coppermine, it has a box under the domain address which is blank, in there you put the name you want for the directory e.g. gallery, photos, coppermine, what ever you want. Don't try and install into www.photos.danvoyles.us, it won't work as the scripts aren't resolving properly to where they think coppermine is installed. It is alright to install the content Management into the root directory as your front end, but Coppermine sits below the root directory in a sub directory of your choice but you have to remain within the norms of it's own set structure. When you have it installed you can imbed it into the CM but I would suggest not doing that, just make a link to the gallery as a sperately opening window, otherwise the displaying of Coppermine will just suck big time, from what I have been looking at, as I am on a similar track that you are on as well, redesigning my own websites to use a Content Mangement Systems scripts like Joomla. As I said in a post above, the photos are on your system, but the syntax of the scripts is looking in the wrong directory for images etc, as you have confused Coppermine with it's location being wrong. I've changed your guest permissions to yes, so linking to the gallery now you can at least see the albums not just a log in screen. When you look at the links for the gallery it is showing that the installation is in the root section of your website. It shouldn't be in the root, it should be in one directory lower. When you install the script it allows you to nominate a directory, if you leave it blank it installs into your root directory (public_html) and the structure of coppermine doesn't know where the info is being stored, hence why images etc are missing, although they should display in theory. If you unistall your coppermine installation and then reinstall it using the fantastico install, where it shows the empty box underneath the address line, put in gallery or gallery two if you already have a photos gallery which I think you do with the photos link on your blog website. Or put in Coppermine or gallery 2 what ever you want to call it. So your link will look like http://www.danvoyles.us/gallery2(or what ever you call it)/ and it will then be in the correct installed syntax for the scripts to find the relevant info. Also coppermine is up to version 1.4.6 as well your current install is 1.4.2

I am looking at the gallery at present and upon checking the validation of coppermine it appears that you haven't installed the coppermine correctly as it is reporting all the necessary files to be missing. Which is why when you look at your gallery, or any of most of the other buttons used by Coppermine are said to be missing. How I installed my Coppermine was by using the fantastico installation link but I put it into a seperate folder which I have called gallery. I would suggest that you uninstall Coppermine and reinstall it again, but this time when asked what directory to put it in, make sure you call it either coppermine or gallery. The other thing, you have allow user registrations set to no, which means, unless you are a member already, people will never be able to see you albums, as they aren't able to login. As well as that, you don't allow guests to view either, which amounts to exactly the same thing. Does that all make sense. I have msn on at present and yahoo.

The system in coppermine is set so that you have to login to view the albums, you need to log in and have a good look at the configuration settings, there are little ? marks next to each of the configuration settings and if you move over them you should get a detail hint about what they do and what settings for each of them. Viewing the images is another matter again that has to do with settings in the albums and viewing, it is a permissions thing that they have set up.

has found the most useful, easily modified Content Management System of the choices that are included in Fantastico. I have looked at and installed most of them, looked at different themes, changing items in them, and I'm really stuck deciding which way to jump. I primarily want to use it for a Computer/Business related website and a Photography/Business related website (2 different sites), but I really don't want to commit to something only to find out that the choice might be wrong. I currently use Dreamweaver for website design, but would like to use a CMS instead as it seems to address most things relatively easily (although some of them take time to figure out), I also use Coppermine for Website Gallery but not having eCommerce built into that makes it a bit limiting if wanting to sell photographs etc. Look forward to replies, opinions, discussion on the subject.

I've installed Gallery from Fantastico several times into a testing domain and haven't had any of those issues you mention. I did have a huge problem though when updating to the new gallery with the original installation there, ended up loosing the database and access to pages. Wasn't a problem just deleted the whole thing and started again. I use Coppermine as I find that as the most straight forward for my use and upgrading has been relatively painless each time, although a couple of updates ago, I didn't realise they had changed the way they treat themes and I hadn't updated the theme, so it didn't work correctly. But is now. I've looked at all the gallery software that fantastico has, and keep going back to Coppermine.

have you looked at the dates of the webpages, maybe you were hacked.

Why not use Coppermine as your gallery, then you shouldn't have any problems with ownership etc.

Darcy I was looking for a hosting company about 4 years ago when I got my site taken down when the hosting company went to the wall, had my money and everyone elses and bolted. There was a big deal about that company at the time and I think it was going to a class action as well against the person. After many hours scouring, reading, asking questions, lookign at wesites that list "Hosting Companies That Suck", I came across TCH. Browsed around in the forums looked at the input and noticed this Guy Bill Kish Hed Guru. Conversed with him for a while, explained what was going on and during this found out I was actually talking to the man who owns the business. This has only happened once before, being able to converse with the Head of the Company and that happens to be the Internet Service Provider that I am with for Broadband. He like Bill spends a lot of time making sure that his customers receive the best service that he can provide and at a price that is affordable to everyone. Might not be the cheapest, but hey, there has to be other things that you need to consider as well, besides price. I haven't had one major complaint to speak of, and with the minor problems which have been extrememly rare, these problems have been resolved within a couple of hours at most of posting a support ticket. I chat online occassionally to Bill Kish as he is very busy and would now count him among a small group of close friends I have met online. I have no hesitation is assisting him at all and have done in the past as he has for me as well. I must say well above the level I have ever encounter previously of any business person. As long as you stick with Acceptable Use Polices and Acceptable content policies as well, you won't have a problem with TCH at all. I certainly get enough for my needs and then some, and it is only getting bigger for all of us as the new servers have come online and increases to storage and bandwidth as well, without any cost increases. I think that speaks for itself. Look forward to seeing more of you in the forums.

One of the reasons I use Coppermine, another reason was when I did an upgrade to gallery2 the whole gallery went haywire as well. At least with Coppermine I can get the upgrade done, by just following the steps in the document.

Tell them you will be contacting the authorities about their calls and see if that stops them calling as well. Unsolicited phone calls are being a huge pain and authorities are starting to set in motion mechanisims to have this sort of thing stopped. In Australia there is a guy who gets the listing of stock holders and send letters with authorities for people to sign to purchase their stock are hugely undervalued amounts. Many elderly people not knowing otherwise have signed the authorities and lost thousands because they didn't realise they were selling their stocks. There have been similar mailouts here as well where they tell companies that their domain names are expiering and CFO pay them as they don't realise it isn't thier domain name registrar who is contacting them and inadvertantly transfer the registrar. Basically another form of Phising isn't it.

Darcy as a matter of interest to others who maybe having similar problems and are reading this thread, have you been to the Drupal support forums and done a search on this problem to see if one it is a know issue or two if it is a bug in Drupal ??

Check when in Admin mode that your albums have permissions set to upload to the albums, I got caught with that as well. When in Admin Mode, Slect Albums from the left hand link of the gallery and there should then be three buttons showing for you to Delete, Properties, Edit Files. Select Properties and you will see several selections in there for you to allow/disallow access and even setup passwords for albums as well. Hope that helps to resolve the issue. Coppermine Forums sometimes are very unhelpful when you have a problem or a question.

Just looked at his site and he is using Gallery not Coppermine. So any help is mute isn't it. Since we have all been talking about Coppermine.

When you are in Admin Mode and you have the Albums listed there are three selectable tabs for each of the albums, Delete, Properties, Edit Files, if you select Properties you can set the access properties for the Album there. You can even set a password for the album in there as well. Make sure you Click on Album List when you are loged in as Administrator otherwise you won't see what I mean. If you are still unsure let me know I will do a couple of screen captures and let me know what skin you are using will make it a bit easier as well.

You need to set permissions for the Albums as well, this caught me out. I can't get into my gallery at present as the server is migrating. Look at the albums after you have set them up there are move options once you have done that, but you need to be in the admin mode to get to them. It isn't in the general configuration where you can change all setting to gallery it has specifically to do with the Albums. Keep in mind this is from pure memory cells at present. Once the server is back on line later today I will look and make not of the selections you have to do to get to where you are needing to get to.

In cPanel mail Default Address Mail, it gives two options, Hint: You can enter :blackhole: to discard all incoming unrouted mail or :fail: no such address here to bounce it. If you wish to send to multiple address, please seperate them with a comma (,) which is why everyone that is doing this is putting the second option :fail:no such address here, maybe that needs to be addressed with cPanel people to make that clearer in its use.
