  1. Hi Lee As far as I know, you can always purchase a domain name without having it hosted somewhere. If you want it to be parked on top of your main domain, when someone types in your second domain, they will see your main domain's index (main) page.
  2. I don't think it would have anything to do with AVG. I run that and send through SQmail all the time from home.
  3. I would except I'm not interested in receiving travel specials information. Sorry.
  4. Well, according to the Use Policy,
  5. Figures. A new version comes out 2 days after I switch over from Blogger.
  6. I may take you up on that help later when I'm a bit more coherent. Been up since 4:30am due to family member having surgery. I don't get a ton of spam, but I'd like to eliminate as much as possible. Thanks!
  7. I usually use snopes.com to see if something is true or not. I can't tell you how many times I've had those stupid pictures of sea creatures sent to me that they said were found after the tsunamis. > If they would just take two minutes to look things up before passing on garbage, I'd have alot less spam coming in from my relatives!
  8. Awesome! I'll give that a shot now. Thanks!!!
  9. I'm still a simple Blogger user, however I do like to update my template with the seasons. I'm making a Valentine's template and have been puzzling over this script for quite a while tonight. What I WANT to do is make the links in the right content be a different color than the links in the left content (date footer and Comments link). As it is now, when I change one, I change them both. I've played around with several things trying to force a different color on one but am striking out. It's probably really easy, but if someone can point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it. I'm attaching the txt file of my code. Thank you!! Kristi template.txt

  11. Any subdomain is going to just be a folder of your regular domain, so if you did this, they'd access it by typing http://palazzofamilynews.dominicswoodshop.com. If you want to make this subdomain, go into your cpanel to Subdomains > Manage Subdomains and add a new one. It will have separate stats that you can see through cpanel as well. If you buy a completely different domain for different content, then as Thomas said, you'd either have to get a second account or have a reseller account.
  12. What incredible irony. Bill Gates is spending billions to prevent......viruses.
  13. Are you looking at it on your local drive? If so, it won't show up. It will only appear once you publish the file and view it online.
  14. I got par my first time around with 2 holes in one.
  15. Cool! Congrats Bruce! So, do I get special privileges since I'm a good friend of the wife of the Lead moderator?
  16. Check out this thread and this thread regarding Fantastico.

  18. You didn't warn me soon enough! I bought it almost two weeks ago but actually haven't been playing tons like hubby does. His main is something like lvl 48 (in less than a month!) and I'm still at 13. My druid is a skinner/leatherworker and hubby's paladin is a miner/blacksmith specializing in armor. He has a 13 hunter that is doing enchanting/engineering which is an absolute riot! We also play with friends. A guy in St. Louis who used to play EQ with us started a guild with a bunch of his coworkers and friends, and since then two other ex-EQers have joined in so it's alot of fun.
  19. Hey, was the author of that spying on me at home???
  20. I use the FTP program in Dreamweaver and this happens to me all the time. It is a real pain when uploading a large number of files, but the conveniences of Dreamweaver's site files make it worth the bother for me. I wonder if it will be better when I finally upgrade to MX2004.
  21. Perhaps this should've been made into a new thread? I'm glad you're happy here - just seems strange to add on to a 6-month old thread that was complaining about TCH.
  22. Unless you have a reseller account, you have to submit a help desk ticket to park a domain. I'm guessing this is so people don't point parked domains to subdomains and such when they're not supposed to.
  23. Hi I'm not a TCH employee or a techie guru, but I hope I can help a little until a mod shows up. TCH definitely does not oversell its servers. There have even been discussions about the subject here on the boards. They closely monitor server activity and take any necessary steps if one person's site is running rampant using resources and causing everyone else's to slow down. As for what your plan options are, you would need to figure out how much bandwidth you use in a month and how much disk space you need and compare that to the available packages here. I've been amazed at the level of service here and how much time and care Bill puts into his company. I'll never go anywhere else.
  24. I have a blog that is just a daily journal/way of keeping in touch with friends and family. Bruce and Bunni are the ones who got me started early this year. Then two cousins, an aunt, and my mom all started blogging because they enjoyed mine so much. I'm also starting a second blog (still tweaking the template) to journal areas in my life that I am trying to improve (diet, spiritual, etc.). I will probably only give this link out to a few people as it will contain more private information. (Yes, I've already added it to my .htaccess file to keep bots from picking it up - one of the many things I've learned from these forums!) I find that I can sort out thoughts and feelings much better in writing, plus it will help keep me accountable. It also makes me feel closer to my friends who live far away.
  25. No Bruce, that's just disturbing.... I just laugh and shake my head when Bunni says, "Let me ask Bear" and I KNOW she's asking via ICQ!
