It is streaming but using html code rather than encoded on the server. Real Media, Quicktime, and Windows Media all have server-side software that encodes and streams in real-time which allows things like streaming a live performance or event in addition to digital files. Basically you can stream using html. It is similar to providing the files as downloads but the files can actually begin playing before the download is complete. Some file formats will actually have to be completely downloaded before they will play while others will start before the download is complete. You can run a Google search on 'video streaming html' and get lots of links that discuss the advantages and characteristics of different file types. So you can stream in this manner. It is worth mentioning that streaming video and audio files can use a lot of bandwidth, just as providing the files as downloads would use a lot of bandwidth. It is important to keep an eye on your stats if you have something like this on your site.

A point of clarification, you cannot stream using Real Time Streaming (RTSP) which requires server software. You can stream some file types using HTTP. I found a nice site at http://cit.ucsf.edu/embedmedia/step1.php that creates the code to do this. You can see an example I put up on my site at http://veazeys.com/rain.html. It is in wmv format and uses code from the site above. (I will not be leaving this up for long.) You can see if that is what you have in mind.

Jim is right. You should not forward using the IP but should set the nameservers to ns1.totalchoicehosting.com and ns2.totalchoicehosting.com so that our nameservers are used to point the domain.

2 Dif Domains Or More On A Same Package Hosting
TCH-Rick replied to vwpowergtsr's topic in Open Discussion
We do not allow multiple domains on one account unless it is a reseller account. You will need to purchase an another hosting account for the additional domain. -
No problem. Send me a PM with the account log in and domain and I can have a look and change the permissions if needed. The file you mentioned was created by the script so it is not under your ownership.

There may be a problem with the MySQL database set up. IM me and I can take a look.

Updating stats is a cpu extensive task and running all three (Analog, Webalizer, and AWStats) is simply not an efficient use of server resourses. We asked users here in the forums to vote on which they preferred and AWStats was the overwhelming choice. There was a misconfiguration on your server that had Webalizer running. I have corrected it.

In the Welcome email there is a section on accessing CPanel using the IP address. You say you have viewed the site so I suspect you have used http://IPAddress/~username to do that. To access your CPanel you can use http://IPAddress/cpanel. You will then be prompted for your username and password.

If the suggestions given here have not worked you need to open a Help Desk ticket using the link at the top of this page so that we can have a closer look.

PLease reopen the ticket or PM me with your account details and I will look into it. All tickets have been responded to over the past several days.

The Ftp Session Closed And Now I Can't Connect ?!?
TCH-Rick replied to lubox.com's topic in CPanel and Site Maintenance
Technical problems should be sent to the Help Desk. If there is a problem with the ftp server we can address it there and not through the forums. -
If you can change the nameservers for the domain to ns1.totalchoicehosting.com and ns2.totalchoicehosting.com then the only cost is to to purchase the plan. You will need to contact the registrar of the domain to be sure that you can change the nameservers.

There are scripts that can be used so that users can log into Horde on your site. You can see the scripts on our Webmail Link on the Help Pages. I set up a page on my site so that users can go to that page to enter their webmail.

Please submit a Help Desk ticket by clicking on the link at the top of this page and we can be sure that InvisionBoard is installed on your server as an Add-on script.

It will be much easier to get everything working once the domain has propagated. There were a couple of problems including the path to your mt-static directory which I corrected. The permissions also were wrong and should be 755 for the directories in mt-static. Once the domain has propagated you should correct the mt.cfg file or stats will not record access of the blog. You will need to change the cgi-bin directory and the static files path.

MySQL is supported on all servers and all accounts. We do not support mod_perl. You would be able to install scripts including templating software. You would need to see the documentation for the script to determine how it would be installed. You would have ftp access but we do not allow SSH access on any plan.

I have restarted the stats and they should update over the coming 24 hours.

It sounds like propagation has not completed. It can take longer for email to propagate at times and will likely clear up given time. If it is still not working after 72 hours open a Help Desk ticket and we can have a look.

Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.

Parked Domains And Resellers Questions
TCH-Rick replied to Sarah Ross's topic in Pre-Sales Questions
You can purchase an account using sitea.com and then submit a Help Desk ticket to have us park siteb.com on it. There is no additional charge for that service. -
Please submit a Help Desk ticket by clicking on the link at the top of this page. We will need to know your domain name and which server you are on in order to correct the problem.

The Silver Plan was 10 gigs so you should have that much bandwidth.
