Nope, ASP is only for Windows based servers. All of the TotalChoice Web Hosting servers are Unix based. PHP is the alternative scripting language that can be used here and is supported by our servers.

CuteFTP Pro by Globalscape does allow for the creation of a transfer queue and the scheduling of the transfer. Many other good FTP apps will do the same.

JailShell is a safer shell access and the only one allowed by TCH. 3 - what are the restrictions to use SSH ? for example, i use SSH for all kind of services, like tunneling (port forwarding pop, smtp, database access mysql), SCP or ftp under ssh. Moving from other host i need continue with this services. What is the waranty you dont drop SSH access ? I can't answer that one. Someone else? 4 - How many parked domains can i assign to a account ? You can park domains on top of your account provided that they will all resolve to the same website. The other alternative here is to simply enter the exact file name into your browser address bar (provided the files were loaded into /public_html directory somewhere). Example: >http://mysite.com/myExcelFile.xls That should start a "Open or Save" dialog. Notice that the file name IS case sensitive and file names with spaces are a bit more troublesome. (But FTP is a faster protocol for this, so it is preferred.)

I recently posted here about using MyODBC to create a channel from Access running on my local PC to a MySQL db. With the exception of having to set the indices on the tables, it works just dandy. Do a search of the forums here for MyODBC to find my post. What it IS good for: populating data in the tables from an Access built front end for users exporting basic table designs and data from Access to MySQL What it's not good for: changing the table/field properties after created in MySQL Hope that helps.

Don't know if this will help a lot, but when using MyODBC to connect an Access db from my PC to a MySQL db on my hosting space, I use the IP address for the host. Just plain IP address.

Anything outside of the public_html directory can't be accessed via the web anyway...am I missing something or what's the point of protecting a directory that no one can get to in the first place?

In Missouri, there is an agency (actually a set of agencies) that helps to procure grants, loans and the like for small businesses just trying to get started. Maybe your state has some similar agencies. The three leads that pop into my head right off the top are: East Missouri Action Agency (funded by state and fed sources with all kinds of programs from paying your electric bill if you need help to providing startup costs to new small businesses.) Regional Planning and Economic Development Commission (example, visit http://semorpc.org - hosted by yours truly) The secretary of state website for your state. Normally this is where you can find small business programs being offered by your state. For example, again in Missouri: http://www.sos.mo.gov/business/outreach/ Oh, just found this one as linked from the Missouri Sec'y of State site: http://www.sbaonline.sba.gov/ United State Small Business Administration (financing links there too).
