  1. I could've simply said this in the support ticket I just had resolved, but I wanted to publicly thank you folks for doing an outstanding job, and let anyone who may (for some freakish reason) have doubts know that you won't find better customer service -anywhere-. I wouldn't even dream of moving to a different webhost after you've worked so hard to take care of us. Please keep up the good work; you're doing incredible!
  2. I'm guessing nobody has any idea how to get around this little issue, then? Oh well... what can you do. Thanks anyway!
  3. I'm using CuteFTP Pro, and I seem to have a problem with uploading files. I can upload a good chunk at a time without a problem, but when I have a massive amount (IE, the entire site from a global update that wasn't in my database, perhaps) of files to upload, it will stop halfway through and tell me "Too many connections (3) from this ip. Please try again later..." or something to that affect. I am the only person that can access anything, as I'm the only user currently, and I know I only have one session open. Also, I've tried restarting my computer, but to no avail. I don't know what could be causing CuteFTP to open three sessions, it simply doesn't make sense. Is there an internal setting that's causing it to forget to close existing ones?
  4. Alright, I got that ok.... On another note, since I think you also use osCommerce (I think?), I don't really know that much PHP... I know enough to kinda gimme an idea of how to use it with MySQL, but that's pretty much it. How in the world do I customize the actual look and feel of osCommerce, and not just the behind-the-scenes stuff? I know it can be done, i've seen their demo stores, but I have no clue how to do it. Thanks for your reply, by the way, it's much appreciated.
  5. I was wondering exactly how I get paid via a shopping cart such as OSCommerce and the like? OSCommerce certainly doesn't receive payment, so how exactly do I get my paycheck? I didn't really think about this until I had to think about how much percentage per transaction a credit card is charged (IE 4% for American Express, 2.75 for Visa, ec.). Anyone know what the deal is there?
  6. I'm being asked for a Database Server and a username, pass, and Database name. I tried putting in my domain (www.gitgear.com), but it says "Access denied for user: '**MY USER NAME**@137.190.114.52' (Using password: YES)"... Any thoughts on how to make this work for me?
  7. Well, I don't mean a GUI editor or a PHP editor for MySQL necessarily, I mean being able to connect to the server from my work directly and edit it through good 'ol telnet. So basically, a way to access the host remotely, instead of using third party software to act as an unecessary intermediary.
  8. First of all, I'm sorry if this is the wrong forum for this particular question, but I wasn't sure at any rate. With that said, let me proceed with my question: cPanel is a great way to manage most everything that goes on with my website. I only recently joined TCH, but the support and service is outstanding to date. The only thing I have actually found that quite bugs me is handling all MySQL functions (creating databases, tables, rows, etc. etc.). I do understand how to do it using cPanel, but I need to create a database that is quite large with many tables, and needs to be updated daily because of constantly changing information. Using the tool that cPanel provides, I could be spending a few hours a day doing what should only take about half an hour maximum. With this in mind, my question: Is there any way at all to use a tool (such as MySQL Control Center, or regular old telnet) that connects to a specific database for editing? - Jez
