That is an authentication error. How are you trying to access the server? Using an FTP client or web browser?

From the Acceptable Use Policy page There is no problem starting with a simple hosting package and upgrading to a reseller account down the road.

Click on configure Spam Assassin and see what the required_hits value is set to. I have mine set at 5. The lower the number the more aggressive it is.

The web host I left to come here uses Plesk. While Plesk did all that Cpanel does the Cpanel interface is much simpler to use. This is just my opinion. I found Plesk very awkward to use.

When you create a subdomain the folder is created in the public_html folder which is your main site folder. 3. I think can be done modifying the .htaccess file but I don't know what you would need to add. Someone else correct me if I am wrong on this. Glad you found your new home!

The problem is spammers are getting more intelligent. What level are you using for Spam Assassin to tag email? I have set mine to level 5 and it is catching tons. About 1% is coming through which is being caught by K9 on my PC. You cna read this thread about K9.

Normally you put your html files in the public_html folder and scripts go into the cgi-bin folder. What are you trying to do?

The filename is overall_header.tpl in the templates/subSilver folder and you want to look for the section with the image file named logo_phpBB.gif. That image is located in your templates/subSilver/images/ folder.

Which? Spam Assassin or K9? Spam Assassin - not anymore. It was filtering my web forms but I created a rule in the user_prefs file to knock off 5 points for MSGID_FROM_MTA_SHORT for a specific subject. K9 will filter some good email until it is trained the way you want it. I whitelist the good email addresses that it catches. But it hasn't filtered any good email in months.

Would be good to wait until it can be accessed before asking for it to be added to the family.

I believe it is just TCH policy so that the shared servers remain managable and fast! If you were allowed to host 50 domains with a standard account and 50 people did that the server would then be over sold. I'm just using 50 as a generic number. I don't know how many accounts are allocated on a shared server.

I have never done it but I would expect it to read xyz.com in the address bar of the browser. Maybe one of the tech guys can answer.

K9 (http://keir.net/k9.html) is an email spam blocker (Windows only sorry) that uses Bayes filtering to identify what you consider to be spam. It does pretty well on it's own when first installed and as you reclassify what it let come in as good to spam it remembers and marks new email that meets your criteria. It works great except that you have to download your email with a pop3 client to use it. It sits between your email program and the server. I've been using it for about eight months now and it was working at 97.5% efficiency until I turned on Spam Assassin. Now it is working at 99.995% on the ones that Spam Assassin isn't catching. My email is so easy to manage now.

Same here but K9 is catching all the ones the Spam Assassin is letting come through.
