This is right out of the MT troubleshooting section of the docs. This will give you the location(s) of Perl on your system. Does your webserver have a sufficiently high version of Perl? Movable Type requires Perl version 5.004_04 or greater, and errors will occur when trying to use a version of Perl earlier than this.

Submit a Help Desk ticket (link above) and have one of the techs have a look.

When I installed it that's the way I did it. But just try forcing another upload of just the mt.cgi file in ASCII mode to see if that corrects it.

Welcome to the family, 7seven8! How did you install the archive? Did you extract it on the server or upload it from your machine? And if you uploaded it from you machine, did you upload it in BINARY or ASCII mode? It must be uploaded in ASCII mode to work. Can you upload it again forcing ASCII mode? If this doesn't help, post back and maybe someone else may have an idea.

Spam Assassin is used to block junk email. To my knowledge it does not filter viruses (unless they are also considered junk email).

Thomas, I agree with what you said too. But with her machine acting the way it is, sounds like she is having difficulty with the net. Hopefully she will be able to even see these responses.

Diconnecting from the internet and running the scans in safe mode would be preferable. Not being connected would prevent anything else from entering the system before it has been cleaned.

You don't have an ISP account? How do you connect to the internet? Another possible way to get around it would be to use webmail and not an email client (I think).

What this message is telling you is your receipient's host is trying to resolve your IP address and it is not the same as the server you are sending from (TCH). It thinks you are relaying your message through the TCH servers. To get around the problem send to the addressee using your ISP account. I've not seen this happen to any of my email (yet) and hopefully it won't.

You should also make sure you have all the updates for the virus scanner you decide to use as well as the latest updates from Spybot and the latest reference file from AdAware. When you download any of these apps they are prior builds usually and not completely up to date.

Video drivers can cause all sorts of errors. But checking the memory may still be a good idea.
