  1. !!!blue, your side note is a good idea except that I think this would work better. And you could blakhole your default address doing it this way. Since you open your own domain, you can do what you are doing by simply creating a forward for these email addresses you are using and point them to your regular email. Once you start getting spam in the forwarded address delete it. Then it get's blackholed automatically. Just a suggestion. JTey's example should work also.
  2. EnS, you can install Invision and phpBB right from cPanel and they are both free. Just in case you didn't know.
  3. TCH supports the Front Page extensions but you have to make sure they are installed. Go into cPanel and click on the Front Page Extensions under Site Management. If they are installed, uninstall them and then install them again. If they are not installed, install them. Hope that helps.

  11. To answer the question of limits on the number of connections it is 50 on all of the shared servers.
  12. No different than sitting with the text editor open and a web broswer with the page loaded you are working on.

  14. Rock on, Bruce! Unless I've missed a post, I think you and I are the only ones who posted here that code using a plain text editor. Yay, we're a clique of two "die-hards!" I think we should call our group the Text Editor Die Hards ... TEDH for short. Actually that sounds a bit like a hospital, doesn't it? TEDH = The Evil District Hospital (or something like that!) Old habits are hard to break. I still like knowing the inner workings and not have it all hidden behind a drag and drop WYSIWYG editor. But those editors do have their advantage of making a quick mock up of what you want. I'm sure there are a few others that use plain text editors to do their work too.
  15. I believe it is the time the backup was created.

  17. Yes, it is normal. They are treated as two separate domains although they both point to the same place. You can have her set up forwards from her .ca to her .com or vice versa so that she would only need to check one account.
  18. Please open a Help Desk ticket (link above) and ask. And for future reference phpShell is a banned script on these servers. See this post. And, welcome to the family.
  19. This is a spam email. Nothing to be concerned with. Usually there is an attachment and it contains a virus. Don't open the attachment.
  20. My post wasn't directed at anyone in particular. I was just trying to let everyone know why the server disconnects you. I'm not certain but will look into it for you.
  21. If you aren't transferring files then why stay connected? You are using a shared server which has limited FTP sessions. The reason for the timeouts is if everyone sat there with the ftp program logged in and then someone else came along to ftp something they would get a too many connections message and to try again later. I'm sure you wouldn't want to be the one that received the message.
  22. You are absolutely correct!
  23. I would think you could use them on a resume as long as you did not sign a non-disclosure agreement. As for putting you name as the designer on the sites, that would have to be agreed upon by who ever you are doing the work for. Again, just my opinion.
  24. My opinion, the company you are doing the work for would own the work. If you are being paid to do the work and do not have a contract that you own what ever it is you are working on then it would belong to the person paying you to do the work.
