Since I don't know what OS you are using I will assume some variant of Windows. Open a DOS prompt: From the command prompt enter: tracert www.****** You will be presented with a list of servers your request goes through to get to your site. The ones that time out are where the problem lies.

If you are creating forwards the account being forwarded DOES NOT have to exist only the one where it's going should exist. I have one email box defined in my domain and have 8 forwards going to it at the moment.
