  1. Or it could mean the email you are sending him is larger than his mailbox can handle. Are you sending him a large attachment?
  2. You can create folders and rules for processing incoming email to be moved to those folders in any POP email client.
  3. Normally this message only appears when you try to login to FTP. The servers are configured for 50 simultaneous connections. If you are getting these messages somewhere other than FTP I am not sure. I would open a Help Desk ticket and have the techs take a look. Moving to better forum for organization.
  4. The backup files are normally in your root folder. The one above the "public_html" folder unless you have entered a different path. So you should be able to see them with an FTP client. I delete them manually including the current one created after I download it to my computer. Also creating a backup and not downloading it to your own computer would be of no use. If the server goes down, your backup would go with it.
  5. Never had to worry about it since I've been blackholing from day one.
  6. Welcome to the family, Stryke504!
  7. If you rename your index.htm file index.html it should load without the .htaccess file there. Unless you had modified the .htaccess file to redirect it to load the index.htm file. Normally it is just a blank file until you enter something into it. You could create a blank .htaccess file using the file manager in cPanel. If that doesn't work open a Help Desk ticket (link above) and ask one of the techs to have a look. Oh, and welcome to the family!
  8. I use PopTray to check my mail. Works as mailwasher pro but does not offer a bounce function. It does however support bayes filtering so it can delete messages automatically that you define rules for when spam assassin or what ever you use to block spam misses them. I still use Outlook Express to download.
  9. Here is how I do it in Perl. You could also use the Ultimate Form Mailer
  10. Many hosting companies use cPanel for site management. TCH does not allow anonymous FTP but other hosting companies may. Since cPanel controls what it includes doesn't mean a hosting company has to permit it.
  11. Please open a Help Desk ticket and have the techs have a look.
  12. The IP is a PacBell IP address and not a TCH address.
  13. roll
  14. Yes, you can login, try uploading something logged in as anonymous and you will get an error.
  15. The way I've configured phpBB in the past is to not use SMTP and left the remaining 3 fields blank in the configuration and it works.
  16. You could basicly ignore those folders. They are for anonymous FTP which is disabled on the TCH servers. Since they are part of cPanel's distribution is why they appear.
  17. Welcome to the family, Dan!
  18. Yeah, then she would be nagging me, "What's taking you so long to get to the green? I'm getting a sunburn out here!"
  19. There's a lot of people that do not read HTML mail and the image would then be an attachment. And don't forget there are more people still on dial-up than broadband. Sorry, you are looking for help and I am just playing devil's advocate. To include an image in your autoresponder I assume you are going to create an HTML message. Just upload the image somewhere within your domain and create a link to it in the message as you would any web page. Only use a fully qualified URL such as this. You could also add the "alt" and "title" tags as well as the height and width. When the email is downloaded the image will be visible.
  20. Well then, makes me glad I don't have a bluetooth cellphone.
  21. I can see it now. Man loses eye playing golf. Because one guy in the foursome carrying this and after a few beers wondering if it would hurt if aimed at one of his buddies.
  22. It depends on what's going on on the server. The program is scheduled to update at the same time every day. If there is something else happening on the server it will run when it can. Oh one more thing. As the month progresses there is more information to process. Being on a shared server you don't know what kind of bandwidth your neighbor is using. As the logs grow they take longer to process. That's another reason the logs are generated at different times during the month.
  23. After uninstalling .8 I did get .9 to install and run. That was two days ago. So far so good. From reading the replies in here I may be in for problems in a couple of days.
  24. FTP over SSL is not supported. You can use the file manager in cPanel encrypted but that's the only way I know of.
  25. Welcome to the family, nibbler22 The updating is done automatically.
