  1. If you FTP'd from your computer it's your FTP client's problem. Empty folders generally do not get copied. Had you extracted the archive on the server the folders would be there.

  10. Run a trace route to your domain. You will see the server number. Or you could just open up your cPanel and it should display "Welcome to server xx"

  13. You will have to open a help desk ticket to support (link above) to have those files removed. I don't know how you would create files with PHP that would make you the owner of the file. Maybe someone else can help with that. Welcome to the forum and family, fs5!

  17. Hmm, I would never use Wordpad over Notepad to edit a text file unless I was on Windows 98 and had no other text editor available to me. There are numerous html/php text editors available both free and not free that you can download and use if you don't want to use Notepad. I prefer using HTML-kit since it highlights tags and programming code. But there are a host of others out there. Check out www.snapfiles.com for different types of editors. I'm sure you will find something you like.
  18. If you open a help desk ticket with support and give them the information they can attempt to bring your account over. They would be the ones to ask. Sometimes they can bring your entire site over without incident and sometimes they can't.
  19. What is generating the 404 errors? Some 404 errors you cannot stop. Robots or other bots looking for scripts on your site that don't exist are going to give you a 404 error every time. You can't block them or stop them. The only 404s you need to concern yourself with are for content (pages, images, scripts...) you actually created that may be named wrong in a link on one or several of your web pages.
  20. Welcome to the family! Glad to hear you are happy.

  25. Rob, I do the same as you but I don't create an email account, I just create a forward to my actual email account. Works the same and one less box to check.
