Both of those methods are used phrase searches, so all words are included in the search. Google doesn't see it as a link when using +www.my-site.com it sees it as a phrase or keyword search. Another way to look at would be as +www.+my-site.+com. This will yeild the same results as +www.my-site.com or "www.my-site.com". If I knew that I would start my own SEO business. Ok seriously, link:www.my-site.com is what Google use to check for backlinks. Why Google doesn't show certain links I couldn't tell you.

+www.my-site.com returns sites that contain the term "www.my-site.com". It doesn't have to be a link just the term.

If its a heat issue, you can pick up a laptop cooler for about 10 bucks. I had one about a year ago and they work well. It sites under the laptop, and has 2-4 fans on it that cool from the bottom, most are USB powered and have an extra usb port on the cooler so that you dont lose a port.

Could be that it just wasnt seated properly and taking it on the trip with you (moving it around a lot and stuff) shook something loose JUST enuff to make it act up. If they dont require you to send the original drive back, I would just leave it as is, make a backup of your current files and keep the new drive for "just in case"

The reason for it is not so much a security issue as it is a server load issue. Servers get hammered with spam every day, having them fail reduces the load on the servers. Less load= better uptime and longer life for each server. The amount of spam sent these days is unbelievable and it can seriously bring a server to a crawl. Bruces suggestion is one way around this. You can create a forward for an account that doesnt exist, then any e-mail sent to that address would be forwarded to wherever you wanted it.

regardless of what you try and log into ftp.domain.com/user or just ftp.domain.com they will only be able to log into whatever folder you specify when you created the FTP account.

Just wanted to give a heads up to users of PHPNuke. There is an easily exploitable hole in the webmail module in PHPNuke that allows a spammer to send UCE (unsolicited commercial e-mail) AKA SPAM through a compromised PHPNuke site. We have suspended SEVERAL sites due to this exploit, and will continue to do so if we are made aware of any other exploited sites sending SPAM. The easiest way to fix this is to delete the webmail module from the modules folder. You also might want to look at your members. Usernames used have been lottocoordinator, programcoordinator, goldenlotto and like names. The person is using Yahoo and Yahoo.Co.Uk e-mail addresses to setup the accounts and then once verified logs into your system and begins sending hundreds of messages.

Hi, The amount of accounts placed on a server is not something we make public knowledge. We do have a limit (far lower than other providers in our price range) Once that limit is reached no more accounts are added to that server and new servers are provisioned. I do weekly reports of ALL servers that include # of accounts, amount of bandwidth used, average server load and hard drive space used to ensure our servers run as good as they possibly can.

Accounts suspended for billing issues have always been sent an e-mail before the account is suspended (several e-mails in most cases) Starting today We will also be sending e-mails to customers whos site is suspended for abuse (spam, high resource use etc) You WILL NOT be notified before the site is suspended or given a warning in the case of sites suspended for abuse. The purpose of this e-mail will be to give information on how to get your site unsuspended again, it is not a warning that your site may get suspended. There really is no fool proof way, but search the forum for "theft" for some tips. Also you might want to toss a blank index page in your images directory. Right nw you can just browse thru your images.
