In the ipb admin>skins &templates>manage skin sets>edit default under Use Stylesheet> select your new style sheet, under Set as default skin set? select yes.

goto cpanel>mySql> create a new user (same name) and password then add user to the guestbook database.

While I am also learning, questions.. $fp = fopen( "notes/data/names.txt", "w" ); are you trying to read the file? "r" and does the folder notes exist below the current folder the test code is in? and then data below that? maybe try using a file in the same folder to start with. But as i say, I am still learning

Besides the link, has your site fully propagated?, and are you using hotlink protection?
