  1. Rick, TCH-Jack has written a great tutorial on php " Php Minitutorial 1, For anyone who wants to learn php" This has started many of us in the wonderful world of php. If you only use one feature, include, to include modules (snippets of html) common to each page, its worth learning. Imagine including a menu in each page, and then adding a new page and just changing the menu file to update the entire site. :heart P.S. thanks jack!

  9. go into your cpanel and look at the top for Please update your contact information here. click on the here and enter your contact email address its best to use your isp addresss and not an address at your web site. That way if the server or your site is down, you will still be contacted.
  10. You might want to goto the TotalChoice Hosting Help Desk and start a help ticket.
  11. from a post on may 18 When I am searching the forum, I select more than 30 days, and can find most answers that way.

  14. The public_html folder should be set at 750 folder in side of public_html should be set at 755.
  15. Unless you get a resellers account, you may not point a domain name to a sub-domain or sub-folder. This is to allow TCH to keep track of the number of sites per sever and keep them to a reasonable number so the servers will not be overloaded. See the relaxed AUP to see what you can do with a sub-domain. You can however park another domain name on top of a current account.
  16. Welcome Don (nice name ) On the TotalChoice Hosting Help Site there is a page on how to use the cpanel backup feature. If you have cpanel on your current host you may be able to backup and then restore here. If you have trouble transfering the site, just put in a Help Desk ticket asking for help in transfering your site and the techs will do it for you.
  17. Opps! (looks for red faced smily)
  18. Have you looked at Invision Power Board links to Enhancments and third party mods? *http://www.invisionboard.com/?resources there are some great lnks there.
  19. You can change some of the text displayed in the guestbook, by editing the language file, in my case the file lang/english.php contains the line: $LANG["BookMess6"] = "Thank you for stopping by my test guest book site. <BR> Here you can leave your mark if you like."; for my test guestbook there is more info in this post on changing your guestbook be sure to make a back up of the language file.
  20. Good! now explain it to me
  21. It wasn't really the same message. When there was a problem posting, it looked like your post did not get sent, (send error). It was sent, but did not look like it, I as did many others hit back and tried again, and a new but identical looking post was sent. but with a new thread number. And sometimes with out you doing anything, a duplicate was created. And you are automatically subscribed to this new post as well as all the others. When the duplicate posts are removed, you are still subscribed to the thread, and somehow they are tied together, so you get an e-mail for each. Hopefully the Creation of the duplicate posts have been fixed. confusing? yes for me too
  22. Welcome back to the family bbommarito sometimes you need a bad experience to know when you are having a good one Glad to see you pitching in and helping again, thanks Thumbs Up
  23. As Rob said, when a duplicate post is removed you will still get a notification for each topic, if you replyed to a topic. And the link to the ones removed will produce an error. It will take time for this to stop, as in when there are no more replys to that topic. Just be patient.
  24. Welcome to the family Devan Thanks for the info, glad you were able to answer your own question. if you need anything else, just ask your new family. and welcome home!
