  1. Several other family members have also received this same type of msg. Amazing what these people will try to do! Another reminder to make sure all antivirus programs are up-to-date!
  2. If I hadn't just purchased a new truck last thursday, that laptop would sound VERY sweet!
  3. what (if anything) is left of this sale?
  4. As usual, TCH is on top of things! Thanks, HG. Rock Sign
  5. Both appear with no problems from Florida. This may sound foolish, but have hit the "Refresh" button on the browser, right? (I've made THAT mistake!)
  6. Just opened up my cpanel (9.1.0-STABLE 59) and was pleasantly surprised by seeing the icons vs the text directory. However, I couldn't find an icon for phpMyAdmin. When I used the link from MySQL Account Maintenance, I received a "Page not found" error. Was the phpMyAdmin icon forgotten or did I miss a thread somewhere? (Which could be entirely possible!)
  7. I got started on a part-time job I had. I found it incredible that the ISP I worked for had a full-blown Wed Dev. Dept. but the Tech Support side was getting by on outdated methods (e.g. 4-inch binders with pages upon pages of printed and xeroxed information and instructions). Since I enjoyed databases, I decided to put everything contained in our binders in a large database and display it via a web format. I did this on my own with some insight and assistance from the Web-Dev guys. Got a promotion out of it (pay increase) and 6 months later got fired for "Not having the proper customer support attitude" and "Not showing support my fellow coworkers or the company." Go figure!
  8. At least you were able to TALK to your old host! Rock Sign
  9. One more suggestion for you: Proverbs Open Source
  10. I use Homesite on the Windoze machine and Bluefish on the Linux box.
  11. TCH-Bruce: Wouldn't this be considered laundering money? (Sorry! I noticed nobody else had touched that one and I "HAD" to do it!)
  12. Congrats! One more brain I get to pick every once in a while!
  13. Now happily with TCH (after a very painful lesson!)
  14. OMG!!!! Bill is NOT a robot! Like I've said before, change is sometimes good. Rock Sign
  15. I tho't curiousity killed the cat...not the bunny! I have to admit...my curiousity is driving me nuts, too! Looks like I'll have to set an alarm clock to check back and find out!
  16. I've used WS_FTP for many years and have just started using CuteFTP. (Sometime change is good!)
  17. Congratulations Andrew and Casie, and Happy Birthday to Nathan! woooot
  18. It's just as bad in the Federal Government. In my job, I travel from site to site throughout the southeastern US to install radios, antennas, and other types of electronic items for the FAA. I have seen the full spectrum of "customer service" from the local technicians at the different airports. Even within my own platform, we have some that will only do the bare necessaties, saying "It's not my job to do (fill-in-the-blank)." Then they whine and cry when their promotions don't happen or they get a low evaluation score. Hmmmmm... Makes ya wonder... P.S. Being on the road a lot I see much of the same customer service in restaurants as everyone has been saying.
  19. Just in case anyone doing research on TCH hosting is following this thread, I wanted to chime in with my $.02 worth. I had a eerily similar experience with my previous domain registrar. About 2 months before the expiration date, I repeatedly tried to contact them to transfer my domain to TCH. Suddenly, my website ceased to exist on the web. After some digging, I found the snail mail address for this particular registrar as well as their next level registrar. I sent over 50 emails to both companies (RJSkon I got ya beat! ) . The only response I ever received was from the next level registrar who changed the Admin contact email address to my email address. That was all well and good, but they did not propagate that information to the rest of the world. Finally, I ended up changing my domain name from .org to .com and TCH had me up and running in less than 3 hours. I know that wasn't the best option, but I really had no choice as my website had been down for nealy 2 months by that point. Lesson learned (the hard way): Thoroughly research who you are hosting with (TCH has the best bang for the buck out there) and have all contact information set to you. Rock Sign
  20. Tho't I heard a distant rumble outside!
  21. Almost makes me wish I was still working in down in Pompano Beach!
  22. Having worked as a Tech Support person for a local ISP for a few years, I talked my company into allowing us to use IM in addition to telephone (aka "live person") support. The response went higher than expected. TCH support, in my opinion, is way above that. They are always open, honest, and quick. Support tickets or IM are the way to go.
  23. Just one more reason to be paranoid about ANY downloads or attachments!
  24. It wasn't the design that got me here either, but I'm usually able to find what I need to know. Small changes are always good! Maybe add something to highlight what a great deal TCH is? Thumbs Up
  25. Woo-hoo! Let me know how you like it. You might persuade me one way or the other!
