Super Noob Getting Started Questions
TCH-Carl replied to seaofbass's topic in CPanel and Site Maintenance
Normally it will take a couple of hours for the changes on the nameservers to get propagated throughout the internet. If you can contact me via IM -- tchgurucarl (AIM, Yahoo!) or post a ticket using the help desk link on the top menu we will gladly check it out. We would need the domain name to see if it has propagated. -

Apc3 power breaker tripped which caused the issue. We have reset it and power is back, all servers are coming up. If you are still facing issues, please raise a support ticket using the help desk link given on the top menu. We will gladly check it out. Thank you for your understanding and patience.

The issue is affecting our apc3 unit which has about 12 systems connected, the rest of the boxes are fine. If you are unable to access the site, please give us some time. We assure you that we are working to get this resolved asap.

We are experiencing an issue with power control unit and some servers are currently not reachable on the internet. Our DC Manager, Ryan, is already working on it. We will update you soon.

Moving Website In Reseller Account To Their Own Accounts
TCH-Carl replied to BobbyL's topic in Open Discussion
Yes, you can move one of your resold accounts to a standalone one. For this you will have to purchase a separate hosting package for the account to be transferred. Once the billing team gets back to you with the cpanel logins of the new account, drop in a support ticket to the help desk, include the cpanel logins of the new as well as the current account and then request a transfer. Please note that the nameservers for the new account might change as we have separate servers for reseller accounts and stand alone ones. -
I would like to chip in and recommend that you use the squirrelmail installation at http://felucia.tchmachines.com/webmail as the "/sqmail" installation is a cpanel independent one that we used to maintain so that clients can access webmail on the go, say while travelling and when port 2095 is blocked. Since cpanel is now supporting proxy domains, which routes port 2095 to port 80 (refer dick's post above) for webmail as well as other standard cpanel ports, we will be removing this particular installation as we progress.
-
Yep, that would be me updating felucia yesterday. The proxy service got added as part of the upgrade.

Bless you ! Front Page PS.. my views need not be that of TCH

The nameservers might change depending on the reseller server your accounts get moved to - we maintain separate servers for virtual and reseller accounts. The changes in the nameservers on the hosting side will be done by us during the transfer, you will have to take care of the change on the domain registration. You can choose one of the hosting accounts you own as the primary reseller account and then ask us to move the rest to your account. Mention the cpanel logins of your accounts that need to be transferred in the ticket, once this is verified, we will move it for you. The main reseller account can be changed at a later stage if you choose but please note that all your resold accounts are connected to the main account's username. So it would be wise if you choose the main account with a broader view of things.

This is caused by the template files getting uploaded under "nobody" ownership. Kindly post a support ticket using the help desk link given on the top menu. We will reset the ownership from the backend.

server92 is on the list of servers that will be migrated to TCH NOC. Once done it will have apache2. Kindly bear with us for some more time, as you can see we have already kick started migration this month. PS. Let us give Ryan some breathing space. He is already on to the 5th migration this week.

Please drop in a ticket using the help desk link on the top menu so that we can check the server on which your account resides

That particular installation of squirrelmail is a cpanel independent one that we maintained so that clients can access their email if the default port 2095/2096 is blocked. This will be discontinued shortly as cpanel now provides "proxy domains" which would port 2095,2096 to 80. This can be accessed via http://webmail.your-tch-domain.ext/ If this feature is not available on your server, kindly give us some time. It is being pushed gradually as and when servers are upgraded.
