We use WWD, what is the domain name that is missing?
-
Many ISP's use a caching server to store frequently accessed web pages localy instead of having to have you get them across the internet each time you try and access that site. It is like the cache your computer stores but on a much larger scale. If you are on a windows box you can also try pressing Ctrl-F5 and see if that helps as well. Here is a link I found that may explain it better http://help.sasknet.com/faq/cache_servers.html

same here As do I, ISP caching server?

I got that patch about a month ago Bill. Best patch I have ever gotten. Thumbs Up

Lars, I am not sure I entirely understand the question but if you get hosting here all you have to do is point your domain name to us by changing your name servers at your curent registrar.

I have used it, I used to work at that company, I think it had some good information that one could follow. Submit to every engine but google and it works ok, I had pretty good results. I will give a hint though, use the information you gleen from using it on your index page and do the same to every page thereafter without TB. That said, you can learn the same thing and incorporate it yourself if you do your homework online. Even the information found in these forums can give you much the same information as if you bought that program. The program is just a bit faster at giving you the information sometimes.

I do not use Dreamweaver but I will see if I can answer your questions. Your root folder is the one found at www.******/ If you are using dreamweaver to upload your files you will use that and not h*ttps://server##.totalchoicehosting.com:2083/ I do not believe DW would understand that. If you are worried about security then you can use h*ttps://server##.totalchoicehosting.com:2083/ and use cPanel. This method has a drawback of only being able to upload a few files at a time and not directories at once. I am moving this to our Dreamweaver forum as well for further assistance as I could be a bit off.

It should stay in a frame, I havent tried it but I dont see why not. You can change the colors to look more like your site than the default colors.

Can I Password Protect Individual Pages?
TCH-Rob replied to JDanniel's topic in CPanel and Site Maintenance
Sure can. cPanel has Web Protect that will allow you to set up such things. Piece of cake JD, I will even show you how if you need me to. -
You will need a hosting package, you dont have to have a domain to get one, just something we can create the account by. Pick a package and then install the bb from the cPanel. There is a drawback though. Your link will point to serverxx.totalchoicehosting.com/~yourusername and not ******/buliten-board. I can think of some things that are a bit more disgusting than that but will refrain.

I was wrong, see below.

you have two choices, both work 1- ask one of the admins to install the library of pear that you are interested in, into the default include file so that all you have to do is write include 'pear.php'; 2- download the libraries you want and install them on your site. I like to put them outside the public dir. Then all you do is include '/home/your-root/dir/pear.php'; This is from an earlier Surfire and Raul conversation.

Blue, I hope they are plastic or you will be able to find them by smell on Sunday. To those that celebrate it, enjoy.

Just wanted to let you know you arent being ignored. I honest do not have an answer but hopefully someone will come along soon with one.

Per the FAQ page; I am not entirely sure of the cost though, you could contact our sales department at sales@totalchoicehosting.com to get an answer on that if you wish.

We have many CSB users, it makes no one an idiot. This is possible. Smarter for comming here Not quite that simple with those that come with your hosting, but there are a few tutorials and we can always assist as well. We do not have that service here that I am aware of. To get to it, yes. To create it, yes. To modify it, not quite. Yes I first tried it after it was gutted and slaughtered so I didnt get to see it before hand.

Welcome home Michelle and Sam Thumbs Up

More importlantly, was your question answered?
-
Quite related. When signing up pick a domain that you want to use and we can get the account created, then when you decide what it is going to be you can let us know if there are any changes and we will fix it.
-
f you look under addon scripts in your cPanel you will see osCommerce. Click it and it will ask for a username, password and a folder you want to install it to. Fill it out, install and that's it. Documentation for osc can be found at oscommerce.com and you can browse the forums at forums.oscommerce.com. Of course we will always try and assist from here as well.

Nat, I dont use DW but it looks like all the information I could find on Wrap Selection was that it wraps around an object, eg. If the snippet is to wrap around text on the page, choose "Wrap selection". Hope it helps.

You may want to look at this thread on Mod_rewrite. There are some clues as well as a link at the botton that might help.

The database wasnt the issue, one of the pages wasnt working, or that's what I gathered from the post. Replacing that page would fix the problem.
