You mean the file manager within CPanel? You need to drop a help desk ticket for that, ok? Help Desk Lianna

Ok? I see an avatar. Do you mean a different one or did you get this resolved? Lianna

Apache Call Netscape and tell them to get in the 2000's! Seriously, I've heard some issues with this before, but don't know the resolution. Can you point me to some specific scripts that others can check out to see where the problems might be? Lianna

Keep in mind that not all of SNH's hosting clients have signed up here at the forum and that some forum members were checking out the services and not (yet) clients. Go here to find a list of the staff Welcome home! Lianna

Really good come back! And a good thing you said 1&2, not 3-7! Lianna

I've detailed the steps in the Reseller Central forum. Steve, I don't know if you have the password, so I've dropped you an email with it. Lianna

No, sorry. I compeltely forgot about this! Dang. L

What you put on your site is your business...as long as it is within the limits set forth by the Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policies of SNH. Yes, adult content is allowed. Illegal, is not. Lianna

Your hosting package and domain name are two separate entities. Your domain name can be pointed (change of name servers) to any hosts servers. By changing your domain name servers, you are effectively abandoning any old host that was associated with that domain. However, if you paid for domain hosting with them, then you still own the package...just no way to get to it with out a domain name. So, to answer your question, yep, pretty much lose the old host's 200M unless you get another domain name and point it there. Changing the name servers doesn't cost a thing, actually transferring the registrar to us does, $10.95. Go here for more.

ASP is only available on a Windows based server. Since all of ours are Unix/Linus, we offer PHP instead. Chat and Forums are offered and easily installed from cPanel. Lianna

Bet you're glad that's over, huh? I'm still seeing the 123reg page, but my ISP's dns server never even gets updated on weekends. I'm sure I'll see it tomorrow morning. Lianna

Ricco, When did you initiate the DNS change on your domain name? Whois lookup of your domain does show that SNH servers are listed. Network places FTP access to your site will return the error for as long as you have incorrect domain name direction...ie: if the domain name is not fully propagated, you will get errors no matter what medium you use to try the access. If you initiated the DNS changes more than several days ago, did you contact your registrar (123-reg) and inquire with them? What did they say? Lianna

No, I'm sorry. To host multiple domains under a single account would require a reseller account. Lianna

Hey, Tony! Lianna

Steve, Bill and I talked briefly about it yesterday morning. Let me get some more details and the step-by-step and I'll get back to you. Probably tomorrow afternoon? Is that ok? Lianna

Funny thing. I just tried a couple of different file names and rose the same 123-reg page every time. See? http://riccojames.co.uk/index.htm http://riccojames.co.uk/index.html http://riccojames.co.uk/default.htm http://riccojames.co.uk/default.html http://riccojames.co.uk/home.htm http://riccojames.co.uk/home.html What that tells me is that your registrar has a default error page associate with your domain name. So that if the page isn't found then the visitor is directed to that error page (which they've happily supplied to themselves an advertising plug). What is the name of your home page??? Rename it to index.html if it isn't already. Otherwise, please let us know what's going on, ok? Lianna

According to a WhoIs query of your domain name, you have entered the ***** name servers. I also see that you registered on 1/5/03. Did you also make the DNS change on the same day that you registered? Or did you do that on a later date? When I go to riccojames.co.uk, I see the 1-2-3-reg.co.uk window "This domain has been registered by..." So, if you changed the DNS servers on the date of registry, contact your registrar. Explain that you're still seeing the "This domain registered by.." window and it's been 6 days. If you changed your DNS servers more recently than that, it could reasonably take 12-72 hours for the change to propagate. So wait a bit. Lianna

Good. Glad all is well. Lianna

So what fixed it? The deletion of index.html? Love the pic of the trout! That's amazing. Lianna

More often than not, you'll get a welcome email within a few hours. It can take as long as 12, but that doesn't happen often. Hang in there a bit. Welcome to your new home! Lianna

Hi. What is the page name of your home page? Go to cPanel's File Manager and look in public_html. Specifically look to see if there is a file called index.html (with an L at the end). If there is, then click the name index.html and view the page. That is probably the SNH Op Center page that you are seeing when accessing your site. DELETE that ONE file and you should be good. What happens is that there are several possible home page names, each of which are sought after by the server in a predetermined order when someone access your site without specifying the page name. Like if I type *****/index.htm in my browser address bar, that's where it will take me without question, to THAT page. But if I only type *****, then it has to go through a list of potential page names to see if they exist. Normally, that list order is something like this: First look for index.html. If found then display, else: Look for index.htm. If found, then display, else: Look for default.html... then default.htm then home.html then home.htm You get the idea. So, if the SNH Op Center page is named index.html, then that's as far as it will go through the list. I don't know the exact order for the SNH servers, but it really doesn't matter much. Just name your home page index.html. Lianna

Yeah, exactly! What was I thinking? Thanks, Lianna
