  1. Good thing y'all weren't waiting around on me today! Lianna
  2. Yes, ImageMagik is installed.
  3. Welcome home you guys!
  4. Technically, it is correct. However, the packages here are meant for hosting websites, not hosting solely email capability. So TOS and AUP may be overriding the technical 'limit' of email space. ...but I could be wrong too! Lianna
  5. Not normally. I've found that most of the subdomains that I've created have been instantaneous. Still having problems with it? PM me if you want and I can take a look at what's up. Lianna
  6. Hey! There ya go. Thanks baseline!
  7. Honestly, that rings NO bells with me. Could you paste a portion of the email here? Also, specifically, who it the message from? Thanks. Lianna
  8. Server now available. Those on this list should be contacted fairly soon with sign-up info. Lianna

ZeroGravX, Could you be more specific about what does not work? What error message are you getting? When you follow their directions (link provided graciously by Larry), what happens? If you can be as specific as possible, that would help us. Lianna
  10. Mar 15 2003, 01:33 AM thru Mar 16 2003, 06:57 PM Wow, that's some machine build record! <48 hours ...and we were asking people to hang out for 3-5 days. Nice work gurus!
  11. Ah, sweet. Thanks for the kudo. Lianna
  12. Hang on, now, I was in no way intending to degrade or offend. I am a professional that runs her own business and has many clients. I use chat for support with a great majority of my clients and they absolutely love the instantaneous responses and real dialog that is offered by the option. If handled properly in a work environment, it can and is a serious and professional solution. (And yes, this is WAY off base since you know nothing of me or my activities: "Maybe if you actually used things in an actual business setting you would suggest something so laughable.") If people would run the risk of being fired because of a chat with you then certainly, the emails they are depending upon are also not of a work related nature....I don't see the difference and it becomes their employers' issue. I do have some very frequent emailing that happens and I'm not at all in favor of limiting the email in such a way that would inhibit my ability to do my business. However, I am in favor of my host providing me with the best and most reasonable all-around solutions that benefit the whole. If I wanted or needed complete control, I'd have my own server and manage it myself. Lianna
  13. WHOA! That was fast!!!! *YAY* Lianna
  14. Hmmm. Good question and of course my reaction is, "Wow this person is really happy here! *YAY*" ...but I think that one year at a time is the best we could do. Head Guru might jump in here and say differently, but that's his call. Lianna
  15. To host multiple domains requires a reseller account, so to answer your question specifically, NO, you cannot purchase an Expert plan and host more than one domain. However, it really sounds like the Reseller plans would suit you to a tee. Here's the deal. YOU buy the reseller plan and move your clients into YOUR account. At that point, you can set up as many domains as can fit into your bandwidth/space constraints. Since you create the packages that your clients will be using for each of their domains, you can impose whatever limits you like for each package and sell them for whatever you like. I had two FeaturePrice plans (one Platinum and one Premium) to host 10 domains. I moved here into a reseller plan and now can host those and more, for less money. More convenience, too as all of my hostees are now managed from a single management console. Then each domain receives its own cPanel, too. Now that I have you hyped about reseller plans, the bad news is that we currently have a hold on new reseller accounts. There is a waiting list though that you should put your name on. We expect to have the reseller accounts available again in 3-5 days. Click here to go to the waiting list. Lianna
  16. gnome girl, Unless you have a reseller account, you can't. By the Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policy, TCH will not allow a single account to host multiple domains, except in the case of reseller accounts. You have now two recourses: 1. Purchase a plan for the second domain 2. Upgrade your current account to reseller (Unfortunately, those account sales/upgrades are on temporary hold. You can put yourself on the waiting list though and expect to wait only about 3-5 days). For more information: Terms of Service Acceptable Use Policy Forum post about the Reseller Account sales being put on hold. Forum post with Waiting List instructions for Reseller Accounts. Lianna
  17. Moving a message board, either phpBB or Invision, is no big deal, but may take some finesse. From a shared hosting perspective, the db prefix is the cpanel username for the domain. So, if you want to move the db/board to another domain with a different username, you will need to do some modifying/debugging. But overall, the move should be quite painless. I will try the move myself tomorrow and try to remember to udate here the results and any difficulties. Lianna
  18. "if I understand correctly, all I have to do is update my nameserver data on my domain registrar and this will point the domain to here? " Yep, that's it. "Does my existing host need to take my name off any of their lists before my domain points to here? " Nope, just change the NS to us and you're set. "or must something be done on my existing host's end to accomplish my transfer?" No, your existing host does not need to do anything. The name server change should be made with your registrar though. You refer several times to the changes being made with your current host. Did you receive your domain name through your host or is there a separate login panel where you can control the domain through the registrar? Or do we just have a vocabulary issue? What's your domain name? Lianna
  19. Welcome home, Gurl. Lianna
  20. Look at the capabilities of Phorm Junior. It has the ability to place the From contents as the email address from the form. Neat part about that is when you receive the email, you can just click Reply to send a response to the sender. Turtle uses this product I think. I'm getting ready to replace the forms on my site with it as well. ...when time allows... Lianna
  21. My third and fourth pennies: "frequently have numerous quick e-mails back and forth with my clients" I tell my clients constantly, "Use the right tool for the job." Chat is chat, email is email. Install phpChat onto your site so that those quick communiques may be facilitated. "I should not be able to have instant e-mail on a free service like Yahoo and have considerably worse and infrequent service on a web host and domain that I pay for" My opinion is just the opposite. Because Yahoo does things like that, they create an instability for all users. I see the TCH move here as being protective. Protecting the server stability for the good of all. THAT is what you are paying for. MY opinions. Lianna
  22. Still sticking with cats and dogs! You people are nuts. See my pup and khat on Turtle's site. (Click the link for "Lianna and Greg")

Me thinks I have a fan. Ok, George, you're scaring me now. Lianna
  24. Bravo, TCH! I would much rather see a suspension of sales temporarily knowing that TCH has committed to NOT OVERSELL their servers!!!! Very rare indeed that a company would put the customer above their own income. This example is the epitome of why TCH is so great. Proud again to be a part of it. Lianna
  25. I say 5 minutes. Then if it becomes an overwhelming issue (ie: majority of account holders are suffering) then adjust as fit. My pennies. Spitwad is right on in that managing something like this on a case-by-case basis would be a huge nightmare. It has to be done at the server level. If we were talking about one or two account holders that were in an abusive mode, it might be different. I think there is probably a more wide-spread issue than is really uncovered in Spitwad's original post. Lianna
