Awstats skiphosts and access log
section31 replied to Jimmy Legs's topic in CPanel and Site Maintenance
Great thread. I'm also in favor of enabling dns loockup on awstats...Great info guys... -
phpbb is a lot more popular @ hotscripts.com. They have my vote. As for explaining the differences, that would be pretty hard to do. phpbb.com has a demo of their administration panel, you may want to check it out.
-
Not sure they got this cleared up.. Looks like they have problems with their log files...mine resets every month...so i know mine is working... just wanted to let one of you guys see if this was resolved or not...or perhaps give us more info on the behavior of the logs...

I'm assuming you are using phbb...Here is 1 possiblity. 1. Make sure under the configuration link in the administration panel, you have the right path in which the forum is located...If u didn't change anything, then make sure your forums are installed on your public_html/phpbb/ <-----This is the default path.

I own a 19" flat crt and its a beauty... As far as tft's go, I'm not sure which to go with. But If you have a samsclub nearby, you can get some fine deals, check this one out. http://www.samsclub.com/eclub/main_shoppin...fcfkjdgoodfkf.0

Indeed...they have a descent forum there that would be more suited to answering your question...Also, you might want to check the community section there...it has links to other websites dedicated to providing hacks, addons, and additional documentation... It kinda sucks that phpnuke's official documentation is only in german .

as stated in other threads..if you don't see awstats on your cpanel... submit a help desk ticket... D

quoting lianna... Here's the deal. Offering 3 distinct statistics packages with cPanel is really becoming a burden on our server loads and taking up a lot of space. We must whittle the choices to ONE. So, we're putting that vote into your hands. Elimination of the losing two packages will happen on or about February 15. Lianna Tech Support Services

hm...not sure how to contribute to this thread...how about http://www.apple.com/trailers/ to get the latest movie trailers...lol Well, not the latest, the new matrix reloaded and hulk trailer they showed during the superbowl aren't there yet...
-
eesh..just found out that the Cpanel can install the phpbb board for you...hehehe... I didn't even see this...
-
Check it out...really easy to setup and has really nice features....and the best part of it is that its free...hehehe... Vbulletin would probably be my favorite, but its a paid bulletin board package... I've been using phpBB for nearly a month since I setup my first webiste here at Totalchoice, and I've been very pleased with it... here is an example of mine using a template... http://startrektendencies.section31.us/board/ read more about it here.. http://www.phpbb.com

was just telling lstover via yahoo im, that i was about to post the same thing referring to the flash animations on the site...she beat me to the punch by a second... @Devynn, u may want to try out another bulletin board...have u tried phpbb? Other than that...nice site..

Come on people...lets get some more votes for Awstats....

Are u using an ftp client or the file manager on the cpanel?
-
Here is my opinion on the subject. If you are running win98 SE or above, USB should work fine for the most part. Len, is this a custom built PC or is it built by a manuf. Because if its custom built, this could simply be an issue with your motherboard chipset, southbridge to be exact. I've had 2 mobos in the win98 era and both required specific drivers, patches, and filters for USB to work perfectly. If its built by a manuf, I would have to eliminate it being a compatability issue and go with a clean install of your OS with the restore disc that was given to you by the manufacturer. Dave

hey bill, what kind of great broadband sites are u looking for...anything and everything or something specific...Not sure I understand your thread

Awstats is another piece of script/software that monitors ur web stats and formats the logs to your site in a very organized fassion. We were just talking about this on another thread...seems like me and lianna found out that server8 and a few others didn't have it offered on the cpanel...so they just finished installing it. I'm also not receiving any stats ATM but I'll wait and see. If you want to see a demo of it, go here http://awstats.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/awstats.pl In my opinion, its the best free webstats software there is. Dave

hm...Thanks lianna, but one more thing...When I click on awstats, I get Error: Couldn't open config file "awstats.section31.us.conf" nor "awstats.conf" : No such file or directory Setup (Config file, web server or permissions) may be wrong. See AWStats documentation in 'docs' directory for informations on how to setup awstats. Could this be because I have an empty awstats directory under my tmp directory...??? Thanks, D
