Took me nearly a year to get one site listed in DMOZ.

First off, I'd like to ask everybody that ships products out: How do you determine the shipping total when a customer places an order with you? In any case, I talked briefly with Andy earlier on AIM and discussed my problem. We have to figure out ahead of time what our shipping total to charge the customer is, even before we know how much will actually be levied for the shipment. We have all of our product dimensions and weights, as well as the dimensions for all possible containers they'll ship in. We also have UPS' entire shipping tables for Ground, 1-Day, 2-Day and 3-Day shipments for all weights from 1lb to 150lbs. We also have their Dimensional Weight formula and conditionals, as well as any additional fees (For delivering residential, etc). My problem is that I need my website to automatically figure out the most efficient way to pack all of these products into a box. The most products into the smallest box possible... This makes way into something known as the Knapsack Algorithm, which after looking around, is something that people pursuing a masters in computer science have to dig into... So it's beyond me. Does anybody have any ideas for how to get around this issue? Thanks for any help on these two questions... Bleh.

I use px definitions exlcusively in my CSS files, although I may switch to em if I can get the sizes where I want them...

Websites... I don't have time for any other hobbies!

No problems with multiple banks I use... Chase, Wells Fargo, Silver State Schools CU.

This is great. I can't see how Yahoo! or Hotmail can possibly compete with this, especially since GMail is getting enhanced all the time to do what those two can do, but better.

You are currently using 198 MB (10%) of your 2054 MB. All is well in GMail Land.

I would be using Thunderbird if it offered tasks, notes and a calendar like Outlook. But unfortunately I need to use those features, so no Thunderbird here.

If you can find a way to get on with Authorize.net, they've been pretty good to my employer.

Man... That'd be a cool working environment...

Sure, it's another thing to kill a living animal. But this is just a different means. People go out all the time and hunt in real life, so what's the difference? Besides, just think about hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken fingers, etc. I don't see the big problem here, as long as it's regulated like traditional hunting.

I prefer just ordering pizza... But that's just me.

Let's see here... Motorola V220 camera phone that goes with me wherever I am, and goes on vibrate mode if it must... Desktop computer at home where I spend most of my time... Laptop computer that syncs documents to desktop that I take with me most places... Yeah. I'm afflicted.

Welcome! We're all just one big happy family, I swear... And we don't even have those rotten family reunions either. lol...

Cool. I'll wait for the auto-update. I also got the Trillian update automatically on both my computers. How do I submit bugs to Mozilla about Firefox? I found one...

ASAIC This is my replacement for ASAP. ASAP implies that you'll drop whatever you're doing. ASAIC is As Soon As I Can, meaning I may have other priorities.

Just a heads-up... http://www.handybackup.com/ I'm probably one of the many people that get sick of having to make sure certain files are updates across two computer systems. My problem is that I need the My Docs folder on my desktop and laptop synced up 100% with the exact same files on each, so when I'm hone I can work on desktop, and when I'm about I can use my laptop and still use the same updated files. I found this thing called Handy Backup that actually does quite a bit more than what I'm using it for... But basically, all I do is turn it on and run a synchronize command, and it updates files on the two computers in the My Docs folder on each, keeping the newest file when the exact same file exist in both folders... While certain scenarios exist where you'll want to keep the oldest, you can do those manually... But this thing is great for what I'm using it for. It's $30 to register I believe, and I'm still on free trial, but I'm almost ready to pony up the cash, because it's already saved me headaches. Oh, and it works with FTP too... A good idea if you have multiple people working on your TCH site!
