  1. Ask the cruise line what their earliest boarding time is. Normally the day you board is their "turn-around" day. They had their last cruise disembark that morning, so they have to get the ship ready for the next cruise. We usually didn't leave dock until the evening on our cruises, and the earliest we let passengers embark was 3pm. If you are booking air on your own, I would get there early so you are not herded in with a bus load of people they just picked up from the airport. I was lucky, since I was an employee, I could board at any time, so I was usually boarded, unpacked and drinking at the bar before the first passengers arrived.
  2. Monkey Guru is correct, it is not much different than being on a plane. I worked for a cruise line for 6 years, although it was a small ship line, not one of the mega floating hotels (sorry, yes I am biased) Basically you will receive a boarding card before the trip that is much like what you get on a plane, it will show your cabin number, name, etc. Check with cruise line to find out if you can purchase excursions in advance (we sent an excursion list along with the boarding documents, but only some excursions that were limited on spaces were purchased in advance). If you cannot purchase those in advance, decide early because some may have limits. Departure is pretty painless in my experience, even with customs. If you are purchasing air from them, then you will probably get transfers (from the airport-ship-airport included) if you are booking the air on your own, you may want to talk to the cruise director before the end of the trip to either purchase a transfer to the airport, or to have them arrange for a taxi. Couple of suggestions from an ex-cruise line employee. If you have any medical conditions that are serious, let someone know, most ships, if they are going into international waters will have a doctor on board and may want to meet with you early on. If you have any special food requirements, let the cruise line know well in advance. And then make sure that every server knows your food requirements... The stories I could tell
  3. This may not be it, but are you sure you have the correct tax class selected in each of your products? You might try your question over at http://forums.oscommerce.com/
  4. When you do your test, where are you having it shipped? My family's store is located in Missouri, when we ship an order to a Missouri address, we have to charge sales tax. If it is going to an address outside of Missouri, we do not have to charge sales tax. Even if the customer is in Missouri and they ship outside of the state, we do not have to charge sales tax. We currently are not using OSCommerce for this site, but plan on changing to OSCommerce soon. I believe it would work the same way though.
  5. Thanks Big Gorilla, I did have him double check, and he even copied and pasted the username and password in from my email to him, but still no luck... I am stumped, so I am open to any other suggestions
  6. I have a folder set up on my website that I have web protected. However, one person cannot seem to access the folder with the login and password I set up. I have tested it and it works fine for me. Is it possible that a firewall could be blocking his access? Thanks!
  7. Mortarque, If memory serves, in the OSCommerce Admin area, you need to create a Tax Zone for the state where you want taxes applied, then under Tax Rates, you enter a Tax Rate for that Zone. Hope that helps!
  8. Dirk, What are photo gallery program are you using, if any? I am using Gallery and I installed their new Gallery Remote program and it makes it very convienient to upload photos to my Gallery!
  9. Manu, THAT IS WHAT I NEED!!! LOL, that is very cute!
  10. You sound alot like my husband, except for the console games, but he is really into MOH and COD right now.. My problem is that he goes out and gets all the stuff he wants as soon as it comes out so it leaves little for me to go get for him. I wish Valentine's wasn't so close to christmas, after banging my head against a wall, I finally found some "stuff" that he didn't have and got it for him for christmas, now I am out of ideas
  11. Mike, A friend of mine did this for his wife last year: He got a bunch of pictures together of him and his wife thoughout their relationship and either scanned them, or already had them from his digital camera and made a collage in photoshop and printed it, bought a nice frame and had one of her co-workers put it on her desk before she got in to work. If you aren't good in photoshop, you could gather pictures and create a little photo album and write a little note about how much you love her, and how lucky you are by each photo. Corny I suppose?
  12. One year, my husband put little notes and card around the house, in my purse, in my car, any place where I would find then...that was really sweet! Another year, he delivered the flowers in person to my office...it was very sweet. All of the other women received flowers too, but were jealous that mine were delivered in person. I really feel for you guys! They really gouge you on flowers and with all the commercials on TV make you feel like you have to go out and spend a ton of money (jewelry, etc). Personally, I don't want anything expensive...flowers are fine, jewelry is ok, but I prefer the personal touch. Like the notes everywhere, that I remember and cherish, the flowers are gone in a couple days. I am at a loss at what to do for the hubby this year (besides the obvious ) I am not feeling very creative lately, any ideas from you men out there? What would you want on valentine's day?

  14. hmm...that is strange! I tried her site in IE with the / and without and the images don't show up without the /. I don't use IE normally, so I tried a couple of my sites in IE and it doesn't seem to matter if the / is at the end. Tracy, did anyone discover why it does that? I don't recall that thread. I tried your two sites listed in your sig, and it only happened to one (the photography site)..I wonder if it matters if the URL is typed in, or pasted in...

  16. Serena-Chan, What is the URL? If it is www.bitofhappiness. com site, then I don't have a problem seeing images. FYI, you may want to take a look at your site in Mozilla, the layout is kind of screwed up, but looks fine in IE. I can post a screen print if you would like.
  17. Willy-t I have been using http://www.istockphoto.com/ recently for both print and web projects. It's mainly photos, but they also have some graphics and flash. You purchase download credits (.50 cents per credit) and today* the images cost 1 credit to download. *Next week they are starting a new pricing structure and depending on what size image you need it will cost between 1 and 3 credits. This change was actually inspired by the users. For web design, you will probably only need the 1 credit size images. If you are proficient with a digital camera, you can also become a contributor, upload your photos and make a little extra income.
  18. Maybe it is a problem in Outlook, but if I check Authentication and select Use same settings as incoming mail server, it will not let me send. I receive an error that the server rejected my login, verify username and password..
  19. Bill, I use Outlook with all my account/email addresses here and I do not have the My Outgoing Server (SMTP) Requires Authentication checked, but I noticed that you do on the screen shots. Maybe try unchecking that?
  20. Chris, I see the flash using either of those links (using Mozilla). The index.html link shows the flash pretty small, the direct link to the swf shows it full size. HTH
  21. You have to create the .htaccess file. If you cannot see one that you created, I think in Filezilla I had to check (in settings) Always show hidden files, so you may need to do that in Fetch. The instructions here on setting up Gallery are very helpful! http://www.totalchoicehosting.com/help/id168.htm
  22. Andy, In my gallery installation I have /tmp as my temporary directory. I think that is what it shows by default, and I didn't change it and it works fine. I also have issues with changing permissions with the file manager, so I use an FTP program (FileZilla) and that seems to work fine. Groovy
