Barbara, which version of Illustrator are you using? I'm using 10 and it will output gif by selecting Save for Web in the File Menu.

Andy, is this the same as mod_gzip? I was told by support in August that it wasn't installed (on my server, 63). I have a shopping cart where I can enable gzip compression, if it is available. Thanks!

I am curious, I don't know if this would be possible: When you click on a link to start a topic in the Server forum it gives a message that you don't have permission to start a topic. Someone that hasn't read the recent message from Bill wouldn't understand why they are not able to post a topic there. Maybe another message could be placed there instead like: This forum is only for Staff to announce server known issues, if you are having a server issue please enter a Help Desk ticket. Or something to that effect. That way, a customer would know right away what their next step is. It might keep someone from posting an issue in another (open) topic.

Carl, It doesn't look like you have changed the Name Servers on that domain to point to TCH.

I have a parked domain and in cpanel when I create a new email account I have a drop-down box to choose the domain (ie:**** or mydomain.net) for the new account. Or you can set up a forwarder as Rob did.

OMG It's another GoLive User Julie, I use GoLive CS on Windows and all I enter is either ftp.domain.com or the ip address. GoLive automatically adds the ftp:// so you don't need to. Actually, I am pretty inconsistant with how I enter it for all my sites, I enter ftp.domain.com or www.domain.com or the IP address in the server field select FTP for protocol and the username and password. All 3 ways work fine. I just moved to CS from Version 6 but I believe that 6 was exactly the same.

I don't know if I am the only one that didn't know about this, but I installed it today and am in love with it. Firefox Web Developer Extension "Adds a menu and a toolbar to the browser with various web developer tools. Current tools include converting form POSTs to GETs, hiding images, outlining block level elements, and disabling styles." I am chiefly in love with the CSS tool. I am working on a shopping cart with huge CSS file that isn't commented very well and I can never remember what controls what, so now in Firefox I can view the ID and Class details for each item on the whole page. You can get it here if you are interested. h**p://update.mozilla.org/extensions/moreinfo.php?id=60

I only read books for the pictures, not the words. Wait, I may have that backwards This SEO stuff really hurts my head. As I said at the beginning, I am setting up a new shopping cart. It's dynamic so all the urls will be query strings. I have been reading, in another forum heated discussions on whether this is a bad thing or not. And if search engines will index them (effectively) or not. So, I thought that maybe using a splash page would help out to some extent. And when I started designing it, I decided I really wanted it to be an eye-catcher with pictures of some of our most popular products. We sell food products, so it's less about the words and more about the presentation. If it was computers, I would want to read all the specs and have lots of information about it. If it's food, a good picture of the product is probably going to sell it better. Ok..I am just thinking out loud here and rambling. Thanks for all your information Jim! I really appreciate it and I am reconsidering a splash page. If you have a minute, I can PM you a link to the mockup of the splash page and maybe give me your thoughts on what I had planned. Thanks so much!
