  1. Just a reminder to everyone that we will begin the PHP5/MySQL5 upgrades next week, starting November 13th.
  2. Besides the fact that we can get direct and immediate support for IPB when needed, SMF did not exist in its current form when we setup this forum.
  3. The hosting and domain registration are handled by separate systems so the have to be purchased separately. Once you get the welcome email it will have the name servers you need to set in your domain management control panel.
  4. Should have kept going, there are only 33 levels
  5. If you were on server51 then you are now on plavin. You can verify this in your cPanel, about half way done on the left you will see the server name.
  6. Halloween Hangman
  7. Actually that's not supposed to be there and will clear when the updates run today.
  8. Congratulations Carl
  9. We might be able to figure that one out http://leia.tchmachines.com/phpInfo.php
  10. Thank you for the kind words and patience while I resolved this matter for you. If you need anything else please do not hesitate to contact me.
  11. You mean these? smilies.zip
  12. I have updated your ticket, please complete the provided instructions and update your ticket. Once you have done this your account will be activated.
  13. It means it sets the order of precedence for the main page the web server should serve up from a directory. Therefore, if the first listed file file does not exist then it would move on to the next file. In the case of our servers we are running Apache and the standard config would like like: >DirectoryIndex index.html index.htm index.shtml index.xhtml index.wml index.perl index.pl index.plx index.ppl index.cgi index.jsp index.js index.jp index.php4 index.php3 index.php index.phtml default.htm default.html home.htm Using rewrite rules will work but really are unneccesarry for your situation. You will want to override the default settings by adding the following to your htaccess for a specific directory: >DirectoryIndex file.html If you want to use the same file as the default for all directories, then add the same line above to your htaccess in /public_html. NOTE: Don't dismiss the rewrite options completetly. I was only addressing the DirectoryIndex option and assuming you are not moving or changing an existing page.
  14. I have contacted our upstream provider and they are investigating this issue.
  15. Hi Shawn, I would just open a ticket to the help desk and we can track it down for you.
  16. We will be allowing a one hour maintenance window for each server, however, the average downtime should be less than 5 minutes.
  17. Hi Dave, I have resent your welcome email with the missing details and gave the billing system a swift kick. If you need anything else, please let us know.
  18. Thanks for the heads up on the script, will dig a little deeper and see what we can find.
  19. If you want to test locally, I recommend giving WAMP a try. You can download it at http://www.wampserver.com/en/ Although I haven't tested them, there are also free tools available to help you convert to PHP5. Such as the PHP4 to PHP5 Converter at http://www.filebuzz.com/fileinfo/38763/PHP4_to_PHP5_Converter.html
  20. Thanks for bringing this to our attention. The dates are correct, however, the information about it being on the weekend was incorrect. I would also like to take the time to let everyone know that the posted dates are the start day and each stage will take more than day.
  21. Hi Betsy, If you don't mind I am going to respond your questions in reverse order starting with our support system. We have a a very solid support system that is manned 24/7, which provides multiple avenues of assistance. Our primary means of support in order, are our Help Desk, Live Chat, Instant Messenger and we also provide these forums and a chat room. Bill providing his cell phone is just to allow you to contact him directly if you ever feel the need. As for being an amateur at all this we do understanding how daunting navigating a large forum or learning a new program, but we will do all we can to assist. If need assistance with something and have trouble with the forums please feel free to contact the help desk or any staff member directly. We do promote WordPress a lot but only because we provide it as a one-click install from your cPanel, beleive that it is well written, and most of the staff prefere it for thier blogs. However, we have plenty of customers using Blogspot and we will gladly help you get that started. Now for the host you are looking at. Yes, I have removed their name as we prefer not to promote or appear to bash other hosts. Don't get me wrong, I will not be bashing anyone here, only pointing out some facts about the offer you are looking at. Yes it is only $3.00/mo but you have to pay that upfront with a two year commitment. They use the same control panel we do and the same basic support services. The problems I see with this plan are that you get... NO parked domains NO databases NO one-click/self installing scripts ONLY 1 FTP account NO shared SSL NO sub domains NO stats NO access to logs The worst thing I see is they call this a value plan and then claim faster speeds for their higher plans. We do not do that, you get the same service on all our shared plans. If you are interested in our reseller plan, you do not have to sell anything to use them. While that is the purpose, these plans give you a primary account with the offered resources plus the same amount of resources to create hosting acccounts how you see fit.
  22. We have now added a Chat Room to the forums which links directly to our IRC service. So please give it a try, just click the new "Chat Room" link in the upper right of the forums. You hang out with all of the TCH staff(never know what you might hear) or chat with other members. For those old school IRC junkies, you can still connect directly to our IRC service. If you have any trouble with the new chat room please let us know and we are looking forward to chatting with you.

  24. I would agree with if we were still on cPanel 10, but that is no longer the case with the new ACL's. I have removed the customers info in the filter traces below, however, you can clearly see what I had stated earlier.
