Take a look at these free web utilities from Silver Age Software. Some useful little stuff - like a GIF color mapper, determine exact color of a page, etc. http://www.silveragesoftware.com/handytools.html -kw

Bill - how does it connect to the Internet -- dialup or ethernet or wireless? -kw

You should NOT have to wait days for your email. TCH support folks try to get requests handled in about 12 hours. Once in a while, though, someone will not receive their email response - perhaps an incorrectly posted email address, or something else. Glad to welcome you onboard! -kw

If anyone has implemented one of the cPanel shopping carts, and would like to share their successes, please post your URL here, or let us know what it took to get your shopping cart up and running. Thanks. kw

Like your Broncos flag, btw!

you did drop in a request at the help desk, correct? if so, I'm sure you will hear back from the support staff before long (as you can see, I'm putting them on the spot) :-) kw

The old saying 'you got to let your light shine' is equally true in any business where customers are key. I'm all in favor of anything that get's the word out about TCH. The good and the bad, though, is that you generally only know about your web provider when (a) you're switching to one, and ( when the web site or email is not working! So, working to make support and interaction a part of our business should only help! So, let me ask, since the question begs it: if it's TCH Behind the Post --- is Lianna then our Postmistress?? -kw

I've added both PHP sites to my web site at tch.kwsupport.com under PHP/MySQL -kw

Bill - any luck? Dummy me, I thought you were using a regular iPaq (thus the statement about the docking station). I was not aware that they made an Internet only iPaq workstation. Does it only go thru a telephone line to connect to the Internet, or can it somehow be connected to a hub or DSL.Cable router? -kw

Wahoo -- Curtis is getting a book on CGI/PERL. I always said: if you've got the book, you're the expert! -kw

Generally, we tell people to expect about 12 hours after putting in a request for a web site until it is configured and available. Same holds true for getting your reseller account set up, as there is more work to do for you. You will have access to another piece of software, similar to cPanel, which will allow you to setup and maintain your customers on your account. kw

I have some SSL information on my site at: http://tch.kwsupport.com -- click on the SSL link along the left -kw

We're working hard at it. The Head Guru understands that our customers are everything. Those of use who provide the support (a) love to help, ( love to help our customers, © love to find answers to questions, and (d) love to get others involved. Bottom line? It's understanding that each of us can make a difference in the world we live in -- whether it's how we answer a question regarding web sites, or taking time out for friends or family. Glad you appreciate the effort! -kw

Wahoo, another satisfied user! -kw

Well, I assumed when you indicated that you had uploaded your files to your public_html directory, you were uploading your web site. Is that an incorrect assumption? A web site has, at a minimum, a file that is referred to as the home page. The name of this home page file is normally either index.htm or index.html . If you need a sample home page you can copy and paste the following code into a file using Notepad. After saving the file, rename it index.htm and then upload it inside the public_html directory. < HTML> < HEAD> < META NAME="owner" CONTENT="Paula"> < TITLE>Test page < /TITLE> < /HEAD> < BODY BGCOLOR=#400080 TEXT=#ffffff LINK=#ffff00 VLINK=#ffff80> < CENTER> < P> < H1>TEST PAGE < /H1> < P> < HR> < P> < H3>This is only a test page < /H3> < P> < SMALL>Page created on 2/10/2003 < /SMALL> < /CENTER> < /BODY> < /HTML> I added a space after every "<" so that it was readable - but you would need to remove the space HTH! kw
-
You are correct that you want to upload your files inside the public_html directory. Did you include a home page (index.htm or index.html)? Or did you make any changes to the permissions for public_html? I would suggest the best way to solve your problem is to go and drop in a ticket at the help desk. When you do, please include your main admin userid and password so that someone can access and take a look at your site. Good luck. kw

There was a previous post in another thread about Invision being less CPU hungry than phpbb. Any comments or feedback? -kw
