  1. With CoreFTP just right click and select properties to change permissions. It is one on the fastest FTP programs to connect to a site with. I copied my forum to my computer, and it was very fast and completed the transfer without a hitch. My old FTP program stopped about half way through.
  2. You need to use an FTP program to goto your site, and then look for the folder public_html then goto forums/html/avatars/ and look for folders to load your new avatars to.
  3. Kap, I am going to move this to the General Software Issues forum so others may help or learn.
  4. To add more avatars on an Invision Power Board: Older forum 1.1 goto your forum/images/avatars folder and create a folder gallery/ inside of gallery create a folder for each type of avatar such as smiles/ or animals/ change permissions of each folder you create to 755 newer forum 1.1.2 goto forum/html/avatars/ change permissions of folder to 755 now upload your avatars to the folder. now when your user selects edit avatar settings in their CP and selects Pre-installed avatars, they will see all the uploaded avatars in all the folders you created. hope this helps.

  13. Jim, a couple of ideas. For the charter captain, who I would imagine would like to know how effective the web site is. You could have a printable coupon for a free item that in bulk would cost very little like a free sun visor, sun glasses or such. While its value is almost nothing, compared to the cost of the charter, everyone likes a freebee no matter how cheep or cheesy. Or a fishing riddle or question that would make a customer want to ask for the answer. For selling a boat or ship from a web site, as you point out there is no incentive for the seller to let you know the sale is from the web site. So offer the buyer something. As the commission can be hefty, it might be worth setting up a nautical domain name with a photo gallery for the new buyer to show off their proud purchase. They can point their friends to the site to brag about the boat. And you can offer them free email at the domain.

  21. If is the robots.txt file that is missing you can just create a blank one for now, to eliminate that error, and add to it when you need to. there is a tutorial at www.searchengineworld.com/robots/robots_tutorial.htm or www.robotstxt.org/wc/faq.html and for a Robots.txt syntax checker try www.sxw.org.uk/computing/robots/check.html

  25. Jessie, I see your domain at several registars, like www.internic.net/whois.html It can take as long as three days for all the isp's around the world to update their name servers, so all you can do now is wait. Sometimes a new domain name will propagate sooner. So let me be the first to say Welcome to the family and your new home, if you need anything, just ask.
