  4. If you look in the lang folder and edit the file english.php you will see the names of the fields there. But that seems like a lot of work. Wouldn't it be easier to use a forum? Then you can set who can post by the group they are in. Any way when you copy the guestbook files from your web site, be sure to make backups.
  5. You could put a link to your new site here, then the search engines could follow the link here to get you a head start.
  6. You sholud be able to replace those files. But consider changing into the public_html folder on your site first, and then highlight the files on your computer and select transfer or drag them and drop on top of the files on the site.

  10. I believe that will depend on the good folks at cpanel
  11. Of course if you get a reseller account, you do not need to point the other domain names to subdomains. You can just create a new account for each domain name in your Web Host Manager.

  16. Welcome to the Family puffxy and your new home! Did you make the back up for your database in cpanel > backup > then under Download a MySQL Database Backup click the database name to download a database.gz file which you can upload on the same page in the Restore a MySQL Database upload box. This is all you need. If you made the backup in MySql then you need to restore it there also. We really are like family here. So if you need anything, just ask your new family! We love to help
  17. Hi Kathi, welcome to the family <a target="_blank" href="Documents/Jennifer's%20Thank%20you%20Notes1.pdf">Jennifer's Thank You Notes</a> are you sure that the folder Documents exist in the same folder that the page with the link is on? Check case as it matters on the server. Is it documents or Documents and check the file name as you have upper and lower case in the file name and be sure that when you uploaded the file Jennifer's%20Thank%20you%20Notes1.pdf to the Document folder on your site, it did not get converted to all lower case. With out a link I can not look to help.
  18. Yes, it should not be an address on your site or that server. This is the one place I can trust with one of my IPS addys
  19. Glad you have it working It will take time to upgrade all the accounts on all the servers to make sure by giving more space to an account will not over load that server.
  20. You are all set! But now the hard part. It can take up to 72 hours for all the internet providers around the world to update their name servers to get the new location of your site. As to transfering a domain name, there will be no down time because your provider will have the DNS here. Just be sure that you are the contact (e-mail) for your domain (as you can change the DNS you probably are) and that the domain has finished propagating to all the name servers (72 hours) so if the contact address is at your site, the transfer request authorization from your current registar will get to you ok. Then you respond to their e-mail asking if you want to transfer away from them. And then wait a while, from a few days to weeks depending on them. Hope that helps.
  21. Here are a few possiblities from google http://www.sitepoint.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1261186&postcount=3 and http://www.tek-tips.com/gfaqs.cfm/lev2/4/lev3/31/pid/248/fid/4132
  22. It sounds to me like that is what is covered by the TOS ' You may not point a separate domain name at a sub-domain. " This is the quote from Bill " "Your subdomains are allowed to be used for any legal purpose. You may not sell the subdomain space to others, nor may you point other domain names to your subfolders. Sub-domains may not be used to host other domains""
  23. I do not use DW, but did find in google the same qusetion and the the answer was in remote info i checked use passive FTP so you might compare the settings of this site with your other sites.
  24. Hi Paul, yes that is all you should need just add the nameservers.
