TCH-Thomas Posted February 3, 2004 Posted February 3, 2004 I see Head Guru on the forum in my morning/american night or very early morning. I see Head Guru now and it should be early afternoon american time. Doesn´t you ever sleep or are my suspicions that you either have superenergy or is a robot, coming true, Head Guru? Thanks for being dedicated to what you do. Quote
Madmanmcp Posted February 3, 2004 Posted February 3, 2004 He's everywhere, he's everywhere! I see him here now Quote
Head Guru Posted February 3, 2004 Posted February 3, 2004 I wanted to respond to this and many other threads about my dedication to the business. First of all, thanks for your kind words. It makes me proud to serve you guys day in and day out. I average about 3-5 hours sleep per night. Sometimes more other days less. The hosting business, she is a tough one. It takes a TEAM of dedicated guys and gals to bring you what you see here. I am not the only one working hard to bring you the services that we offer here. I may work 18 -20 hours a day, but I enjoy it. Sure there are times when this business is hard on me or my staff. However, every time we read a nice review or comment from a family member it makes it all worth while. I had a person in chat ask me why the welcome email said "Welcome to the family". He asked why such a sales gimmick in the welcome email. I explained to him that it was not a gimmick at all. It was really the way the company is run. It is the truth. Everyone from our last signup to our first signup is part of the family. I cant tell you how many times I have gotten a chat at 4am in the morning from a family member that was having a issue. They are always so surprised that we will help them no matter what the request is. Had a family member whos site went down as he exceeded his monthly bandwidth, he awoke me with an emergency page. Instead of responding to him with "USE THE HELPDESK", I got online and gave him 1gb of bw to get him thru the rest of the month and went back to bed. Two days later a package arrives at the office from this client. A new sony playstation 2. Just to say thank you. I am continually amazed at this family of clients. I really do love this place and love working for each and every one of you guys. BIll Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted February 3, 2004 Author Posted February 3, 2004 (edited) It certainly is an amazing family I am with. I dont doubt that anyone doesnt do his or hers best. I know they do. That what makes this family the BEST. I dont think I met such familiarity anywhere in my life (except for my real family). I have been involved in many chats and discussionforums through the years and sure i have gotten friends or atleast chatpals. These chats and discussions have not been about computers except for one. What i have learned from april last year when i joined i didnt think was possible. My brothers and sisters here are just... wow. I am very proud to be a part of this family but it is you Head Guru who started it. Thank you for that. Edited February 3, 2004 by Jikrantz Quote
TCH-Don Posted February 3, 2004 Posted February 3, 2004 I have to agree with my friend Thomas, I feel almost as close to my family here as my real family. I should not be surprised, but sometimes I am, at how far our family members will go to help each other. Thanks Bill and all the family Thumbs Up Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted February 3, 2004 Posted February 3, 2004 Put me in the same group with Thomas and Don, Sometimes I feel closer to this family than my real family ('cept my wife). Thanks Bill for putting this all together so we could share. Thumbs Up Quote
MikeJ Posted February 3, 2004 Posted February 3, 2004 Bill has Mt. Dew pumping into him intravenously... he just doesn't tell anyone. The whole team at Rock Sign Quote
DarqFlare Posted February 3, 2004 Posted February 3, 2004 Bill is the man. I have never seen anybody more dedicated to their own customers than he is. If I'm ever able to get my own company up and running, I will run things the way Bill runs things here. (Side note: They gave you a PS2 Bill? Nice!) Quote
ThumpAZ Posted February 4, 2004 Posted February 4, 2004 Bill just answered the question as to why he is always up... Two days later a package arrives at the office from this client. A new sony playstation 2. Just to say thank you. He is always up, surviving on Jolt Cola and Mountain Dew while trying to "just get past this stinkin' level." Now we all know the _real_ truth as to why he is always awake. Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted February 4, 2004 Author Posted February 4, 2004 To boxturt: Same here, I like it too. To anyone: Whats that Mountain Dew everyone talks about? Quote
MikeJ Posted February 4, 2004 Posted February 4, 2004 To anyone: Whats that Mountain Dew everyone talks about? Mountain Dew is a soft drink by Pepsi that has one of the highest amounts of caffeine of normal soft drinks. It's generally the geek's choice of soft drinks for exactly that reason. Quote
MikeJ Posted February 4, 2004 Posted February 4, 2004 Mountain Dew compared: Caffeine content in a 12 ounce can: Coke - 34.5mg Pepsi - 37.5mg Mt. Dew - 55.5mg Still pales to a typical 8 ounce coffee though: Instant - 95mg Brewed - 135mg Quote

OMG Bill only 3-5 hours a day ! and even with that little amount of sleep you still manage this business so well ! If I knew the postal address of TCH I'd send them more than just a PS2 ! Quote
TCH-Dick Posted February 4, 2004 Posted February 4, 2004 shhhhh I think he is sleeping . It's true tho, Bill is the hardest working man in webhosting, and it shows. I try and keep up with him, heck everyone here goes way above and beyond their "required" job description and duties. When you have a great work environment and even greater customers, its not hard to want to make it the best for all involved. Quote
Alan Posted February 4, 2004 Posted February 4, 2004 Bill is an awesome man! He and his staff work hard to keep us happy, and they do a very good job! I love being a part of this extremely large family! Now for the question, is Patty and Bill Married? She is the Queen Guru, and Bill is the Head Guru, makes you wonder! Quote
TCH-Dick Posted February 4, 2004 Posted February 4, 2004 She is the Queen Guru, and Bill is the Head Guru, makes you wonder! We all know who is REALLY in charge Quote

TCH-Thomas Posted February 4, 2004 Author Posted February 4, 2004 (edited) In the "wishlist" for what we want to see on TCH someone said a dictionary. Can we include normal american words there too? I dont know if im getting old or if i missed a few classes in school but its the second time i need to ask what something means. I know what mountain dew is now but what is j/k? Edited February 4, 2004 by Jikrantz Quote
MikeJ Posted February 4, 2004 Posted February 4, 2004 It's an internet abbreviation. j/k = just kidding One place you can see some abbreviations. Quote
Head Guru Posted February 4, 2004 Posted February 4, 2004 Yes Patty and I were married almost 12 years ago. She is my best friend, my mentor, my hero, my kids mother and the Queen Guru. I love you patty!!! Quote
Alan Posted February 4, 2004 Posted February 4, 2004 lol, I thought so! We all know who is REALLY in charge Yes, she has to be in charge, Bill might work alot, but without the love and support of his wife and children, he would not be able to work for us! Quote

cloudrm Posted February 4, 2004 Posted February 4, 2004 I know what mountain dew is now but what is j/k? Mountain Dew is. . .hmmmm . . .kind of like drinking 4 shots of espresso with a Hawaiian C&H sugar chaser. Keeps us up late nights bouncing off walls and listening to loud music. Quote
Deverill Posted February 4, 2004 Posted February 4, 2004 Sometimes I feel closer to this family than my real family ('cept my wife). ... and you're only saying that cuz she's a member here too! (of course, I'm kidding.) Bill, thanks for all you do! It's a pleasure to be a part of the family and an honor to be allowed to help as a mod. Thanks to you for giving this wonderful gift to all of us and thanks to your family for giving their gift to us - you. Ok, enough mush! Back to normal abnormality! Yuck! Quote
Bunni Posted February 5, 2004 Posted February 5, 2004 ... and you're only saying that cuz she's a member here too! (of course, I'm kidding.) Hey! But seriously, Bill is to be highly commended and regarded for what he does for his family members. I may sit quietly in the background here in the Forums and I run a pretty quiet tame little family website, but I haunt the Forum in order to learn new things. I will say one of the things I was quick to learn was the family feeling among those who frequent the forum. Family is important to me, and therefore I can truly appreciate the family feeling here within the Forum. And our Bill is the reason for that good comfortable feeling we all have here. Ok, I've already said more than I have in all the 35 days I've been a member here and I apologize for rambling. I just want Bill to know that he is much appreciated from my little corner of the TCH World. Thank you, Bill! Quote
Alan Posted February 5, 2004 Posted February 5, 2004 ... and you're only saying that cuz she's a member here too! (of course, I'm kidding.) Hehe, Shuuuuuu, Don't tell her! Just Kidding, we all like what Bill and Patty are doing for us! Quote
