I would tell him that if he learns to zip it, the file might get smaller = faster transfer. Then he gets more time to do what he does.

There is alot of free ftp programs. A few of them can be found in the All about ftp thread.

I can be wrong about this, but from what I understand it is not TCH, but more how joomla is constructed, that makes these ownership problems. Hopefully this is fixed when version 1.5 are released.

Welcome to the forum, tgohome. Cpanel to Cpanel transfer should work if your current host have cpanel. How long it would take to transfer it, is a question for the help desk, but I can´t imagine it taking a long time.

This would be a question for the helpdesk, but I would assume they will say no. Also, I tried changing the timezone on my joomla site to the time in Sweden and it worked like a charm. Have you made sure that the change have been saved in the config.php file?

The only two things I can think of is... 1. Have you made sure that the config.php file saved your change? You will need to make it writeable temporarily to have it save the change. 2. Welcome to the forum, djfreq. I haven´t tried it yet, but try to modify "Time Offset" in Global configuration > Locale.

What I know is that you can set up an account in ftp so someone else can administrate a special folder in your account. You can only administrate the whole account through cpanel, which would require you to give out the cpanel login info (not recommended).

I would guess it could be. But you can always open a ticket and ask the techs to look if something may be wrong.
