You can setup filters to block such emails. Also, if it is not a valid email account under your domain, have you checked the catch-all setting? You can change that to :fail: so that all unsolicited emails get bounced back.

Welcome to the forums Kelly. If your plan is to start all over again, Bruce's advise is the way to go. But make sure that you do have the backup of all your data first. Login to your CPanel -> Backup -> Full backup. Copy that to your local system and then post a ticket to the help desk (link above) to reprovision your hosting account.,you have a clean account to play with, again

You can leave it as it is for now. Once you transfer the other domain here, all you need to do is ask the support desk to change the domain name for the hosting account to the main one and then park the misspelled domain on top of it. This will ensure that your primary domain is set correctly and any reference to the misspelled domain will be pointed to the main one.

We do not have control over the updates of scripts in cPanel, they release a new version as and when they like. It is always safer to download and install the current one from the vendor's site.

Sounds like a good plan FP needs a valid resolving domain name to connect. If you have further questions, do not hesitate to ask.

Since the permission of g2data is 777, it is always safe to keep it out of public reach. That said, keeping it inside public_html should not be a problem, not encountered such an issue before.

My g2data is at /home/ with permission 777. It is working fine.

Spams do evolve everyday, so the most effective way to counter them is to tweak your SpamAssassin settings in relation to the spam that your receive. Setting the default email address to :fail: will also help you to get rid of all unsolicited emails coming to your account. Spammers

You can subscribe to the forum or thread using the "Options" menu found on the top right side. Have you not subscribed to the forum related to your server number ? If not, kindly do so, or you might miss alerts relating to your server

Pointing a domain inside a sub folder of your account is addon domains, which TCH does not support. This saves the server from getting filled up. To host a new domain, you will have to get a new hosting package or update your plan to a reseller one.

From your replies, it seems the hacker got through the chat room scripts. We would recommend disabling it as your backup still contains the outdated one. I do not use chat scripts, so kindly wait till someone can give you details regarding a better one. If you can post a ticket to the help desk explaining the error that you got, they will help you out with the log issue and give you an idea of the depth to which the hack was done.
