  1. Do you have a link to the original script and installation instructions? It should say in the installation in documentation what the permissions need to be. it may also be that the script is not intended to be run alone - but as part of a site. So the originating page would be helpful. =)
  2. Eric, please read through the guidelines on how to add your site and re-submit with the required information. I also looked and saw no return link to TCH on your page so you'll need to do that. thank you!
  3. Yes, the last error helps - try 755 or 777 permissions then try running the script again. The error says 'no execute permissions' which means something in that number is saying that its not allowed. Need to fiddle with that til you find the right thing. 777 should allow *everything* theoretically. =)
  4. Really need more information - what output are you getting? What error messages is it outputting, if any? What about the error logs (in your cpanel, there is a link to the error logs) - anything there? Have you chmodded it at all? It probably needs to be 755. That will help us to troubleshoot it. =)
  5. Some details weren't supplied so I filled in the blanks. Type: Commercial Title: The Deck Doctor of Madison and DDM Painting Added. =)
  6. When I used my PC for this I used winamp pro - it's not freeware but it's only $15.00 and I found it to be the most reliable/powerful of the ones I trialled. Windows Media Player (comes with XP) can also burn cds =) If it is for music, that is....
  7. Just as a note - the fantastico installs are often very far behind what is actually out there and the software they can install really is not all that cumbersome. For instance, one fantastico install I saw had wordpress .74 I believe, when 1.2 is out. If the software is gpl'd and under any decent development it would just be nearly impossible to keep Fantastico up-to-date and would, in the end, be a disservice to those using those scripts. If there are scripts you wish to install and are having some difficulties/not sure what to do, make use of our scripting forums. Lots of help to be had there and you may find that it looks scarier than it actually is. =)
  8. You can save private messages so that you can find the password again... or just re-pm a blue or red type person. =)
  9. Is mt-check.cgi reportingi everything ok?
  10. you only get a response to a thread for the first reply after you last *viewed* the thread - then you won't get anymore until you view it again. and it says that right in the email, too, so I'm not making this stuff up. just fyi!
  11. I stopped using MT some months ago so can't test this at the moment, although I can definitely say Imagemagick is working with my EE install on server65. Since you just upgraded, the most common things that would cause this are not uploading in ASCII and/or not having all .cgi files set to 755. Have you checked those?
  12. Oh, no that's ok. I'll go re-read up on the resellers forums to make sure I don't miss anything else *blushes* thanks Scott. =)
  13. Are you insinuating that some of us skipped reading the article and just did the test? *hides under a nearby table*
  14. tested on firefox .9 on osx and the test didn't do anything, so I guess it's ok.
  15. Added in not-for-profit. Although I'm still considering that.
  16. These are all added. However - I would like to request that you make the links for the TotalChoice hosting links from Nistock and the Penn Yan village site mention total choice hosting, rather than just "web hosting". Something akin to "TotalChoice Web Hosting", or "Hosted by TotalChoice Web Hosting" would be more appropriate and is what you have on the other pages that you've listed. I have added all the links for now pending that modification. =)
  17. The conditionals you speak of are not blogging specific but programming issues. With EE it is specifically PHP. If you want to learn php you can read through php.net or buy a book about php. Here is a tutorial about using conditionals in php. A google search on "tutorial php conditionals" also brings up a slew of results. =)
  18. This could also become a major issue with VOIP telephone users.... which I may be in September.
  19. Thank you so much, it'll make it *much* faster for me to add those - which I'll do tonight/tomorrow and post here when done. =)
  20. I believe the current stats are quoted around 15% of people have disabled javascript. I do not know if that includes people with disabilities that use screen readers, etc etc. The proper accessibility for this, if you must have the drop down, is to have the drop down as well as major text links (often along the bottom, so I've seen) - but some scripts ofter a "<noscript>...</noscript>" option which can get arounod it. But yes, if yo uonly offer the js option and it's disabled - they can't navigate to wherever that navigation would go.
  21. Scott, can you give that one a quick edit and add the status of non-profit / commercial / personal to all of them, or let me know somehow? Would make it a lot easier and faster, since you already know the answer... =)' Thanks!
  22. I have heard many bad "reviews" of wordpresses hosting. It seems more geared towards people already tending towards 'geekdom'. Even in my personal experience helping a friend with wordpress we've been been pulling our hair out. Textpattern just seems more user friendly. =) It's sure prettier.
  23. I don't have any idea about this but I'm going to move it to a more appropriate forum, so that I can feel at least somewhat useful in helping you to get a response.
  24. a list apart: stylesheet switcher
  25. There are several ways. You can modify the templates (login and click templates) to reflect your site design, or you can use miniamlist templates and php or an iframe to pull the content into your page... If you search through the MT forums (www.movabletype.org/support) there are thousands of posts o that subject. =)
