I need advice or helpful links please on how to maintain and clean up a Mac ibook. I haven't used a mac in probably 10 years and have no idea if they have the equivalent of disk check and defrag. Another question - my mom somehow turned off the option to have her OS automatically updated and hasn't done updates in a very long time. How can I get that turned back on for her? I've Googled for sites but haven't come up with much useful info yet. Thanks!

Steve, that's the page I directed him to.

TCH has instructions on setting up FTP. Go to Support and click on Help Site. On the left is a menu. Click on FTP.

*edit* I thought Europe started DST after us and ended before us, but I was mistaken. When did that change? When I lived there, we had two weeks in the spring and fall where we were only 6 hours apart rather than 7.

I think I know what the confusion is. First of all, the suggestion above is the fastest way to access your webmail. But if you're already in cpanel and want to access it, don't go to Webmail - go to Manage Accounts. If you go to Webmail, it doesn't give you the option to choose which account you want to view. This puzzled me at first too.

I qualify for 22 of them. LOL As for this one, though: 29. You get a new computer, take it out of the box, and you immediately remove the case. Who gets pre-built computers??

I don't know if they offer exactly what you are looking for, but DeVry is a reputable school that now has online degrees available. Go to ht*p://www.devry.edu/online/

Check all of your fans to make sure they're working. Hubby had a graphics card overheat last year which caused that.

Is There A Way To Add A Guestbook?
bellringr replied to Sunshine80's topic in Cute Site Builder & Cute FTP
I would suggest doing a search on guestbook in the forums and look for posts in the past year. There were a couple with good information on installing and tweaking the php templates. -
How Do I Create A Web Page ?

You might want to read this thread for beginners. -
msb - I know, but you had mentioned setting up four e-mail accounts (rather than just the forwards) which is why I mentioned it. I had mine forwarded just for ease of access rather than having to check two accounts. I don't always want to give out my home account.

One of the mods will correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe when you set up a forwarder that it keeps a copy of the e-mail on the server at the original address as well, even when downloaded through a pop3 account. At least mine did when I forwarded my mail to my Verizon account which I accessed through Outlook. I had to go into my TCH webmail every so often and clean it out.

I have an option to compact folders in Thunderbird under File. Is that not what you are talking about?

Hubby and I used Pegasus for years, but about 2-3 years ago we switched to OE, and now I've changed to Thunderbird. I will agree that Pegasus is "clunky" compared to other clients. There are some features of OE that I miss, but not enough to keep it with all the security issues.

That did it - thanks! I'm really struggling with this css. I want the body of the blog to expand according to the viewer's resolution, but I've messed with every single width, changed them to percentages, etc. and it either does nothing or messes it up. I'm not asking anyone to go through my css - I'm just venting. I'm almost back to giving up.
-
Edit: I had given up, but I'm back at it again because I hate not being able to figure something out.

I've been tweaking a template today for a WordPress blog I installed for hubby, but I'm having an issue with part of the index.php. It has this plugin that adds a note as to who made the post and what time of day (take a look at ht*p://evil.gryfalia.com). Saying I'm a novice at php would probably be the understatement of the year. I've tried deleting out parts of the code, but no matter what I do, it messes up the page. Can anyone more knowledgeable than I tell me what should be deleted and what has to stay to make the page work? Thanks index.php

Well, since I don't care to get up at 4am, I welcome it. Ours starts next weekend here in IL though. Thankfully it's not Easter weekend this year - sure makes sunrise services a bear to get up for!

But there still must be a reason why some of us are seeing them and others aren't. If you know of another general setting besides just turning on the popup blocker, please let us know.

Now that's digging up an old thread.

I get popups when I go to my local newspaper, snopes.com, and one or two others I frequent. But sites like Trip Advisor that I know have popups are fine. There doesn't seem to be much rhyme or reason to it.

Not only that, but they totally ignored my robots.txt file instructions. >

Multiple Users - Ftp Access, Etc.
bellringr replied to kjarrett's topic in CPanel and Site Maintenance
I stand corrected. Just for my own clarification, under what circumstances would it be a violation then? -

I believe that would violate the Acceptable Use Policy which says, "You may not conduct hostee or offer free web hosting to people based on your subdomains."
