Hi, welcome to the family It will be set up within 12 hours of recieving payment (although in reality, it usually much quicker than that) Open a help desk ticket, link at the top of the page (put unknown in for username and password) with as much detail in as possible (your name, the domain name) and we'll have a look for you.

Hi, Probably the FTP settings in your FTP client are not showing hidden / system files (which .htaccess is). Try loging into cpanel, file manager, and you should see it there. You should also be able to change permissions, and edit the file there.

Hi Hugo, Dick is correct, the Domain Registration is completely seperate from the Hosting, and you need to sign up for that seperately. I'm sorry for the confusion caused by the Live chat, The reponse was incorrect. The $55 is the discounted prices for 1 year (with the free month) but does not include the $10.95 domain registration fee. I have just spoken to the relatively new member of the team who you were chatting to, so that we can ensure we do not make the same mistake again.

I use This works fine - I've just tested it again. YOu will still get nobody showing up in the header, since it runs as nobody, but the from and reply-to addresses will be correct.

PM one of the TCH folk, and well provide you access to the Family Only forum, and gmail

Problem With A Script On Total Choice Hosting
TCH-Andy replied to Patami's topic in CPanel and Site Maintenance
What error message are you getting? If you look in the Error log, in cpanel, what error (if any) does that give? -
Hi Kimberly, 1. If it's a large database then yes, upload the file to the server, and ask us to restore it for you via the support desk - usually very quick. 2. I'm a reseller, with a number of phpbb forums, I haven't had any problems. I'll leave other users to tell you what there honest opinion is of TCH - I might be considered to be biased

What's the domain name? I'll take a quick look (you can always PM me if you don't want a link on the forum)

David, As Thomas so nicely reminded me Welcome to the family :)

Hi, If you only purchased it yesterday - you will need to use the IP address, not the domain name. Propagation of the domain name takes 24 to 72 hours.
-
To be honest I have no idea - but you could probably use a swedish word. Why would you want to reduce the security on your site, and increase the possibility of it being hacked though !!!!

Hi, 1. The old versions of cpnel did not check for insecure passwords - but certainly all the recent versions have had a check in to make sure it is not a dictionary word. 2. When in WHM, it does not have the same checks. Hence, you can set a dictionary password from within WHM (or as the root user). Hence the tech person would be able to set that. If you change passwords for your accounts in WHM, you can also bypass the dictionary word checks.

Hi, Just use a % to allow all hosts.
-
Hi, yes it is possible. In cpanel, manage mysql, you need to add the IP address you wish to access from to the list of permitted hosts. You then access it via your domain name / IP address and port 3306

Since it wasn't a server 19 issue, I have moved the topic. If you go to http://dnsreport.com/ then you can enter the address, and it will tell you of any DNS errors As Don says, make sure you have the domain pointing at the correct nameservers. Also remember that it typically takes up to 72 hours after changing the nameservers for it to propagate round the world.

Hi, If it was pinging the IP address happily, but not the domain name - then it sounds more like a DNS issue. Have you checked that the DNS is reporting correctly at their location? Can they see the site using the IP address with /~username ?

Enable SA to rewrite headers - so that it writes *****SPAM***** in the header Then in cpanel, set up an email filter - if the Header contains *****SPAM***** then "Discard" That way you should never see it again
-
Hi, In cpanel, there is a function for redirect where you can redirect index.htm to www.parealtyads.com/cgi-bin/classifieds/classifieds.cgi
-
Hi, It is more than likely it was checking FTP access to that IP address - ie the server, not the site.
-
That's correct. We simply change the bandwidth and disk space allocated - so there is generally no need to move server, or make any other changes.
-
Simply submit a ticket to the support desk, pay for the new monthly plan, and it's upgraded. As quick and simple as that. One of the reasons that we only do reseller plans on a monthly basis, is to provide easy flexibility in upgrading / downgrading the plan.

The IP address for your server is 66.235.184.102 (assuming you mean ephreak.net), although looking at your DNS records, they are not all pointing at our servers.

Hi, You need to configure Nuke to define some of the variables - such as Language, so that it can then find the files.

Accessing Squirrelmail User Preference File
TCH-Andy replied to abujenin's topic in CPanel and Site Maintenance
You should be able to edit it in file manager, from cpanel. I just checked on one of my accounts and could do so with no problem. If you can not, please open a ticket at the support desk, and include in the exact error message you are getting, and how you get that error message - that way we can reproduce it. -
Hi Gilles, Part of the issue may be propagation (or the 142 IP address is using your old IP address not the site here). Since you only just changed your site here, it will typically take up to 72 hours for the domain name changes to propagate. The 142 IP address could still be going to your old site, and hence it shows up in your Extreme Tracking, but it is not coming to the site hosted at TCH. Only time will tell on that one. As to the notification. You will only get one notification of replies (not one per reply) and only if you have logged out and closed your browser.
