the 'q' is for 'quiet' i.e. it doesn't send lots of output to the 'screen' it just runs the php.

Welcome back Xantith You can transfer the domain name using the following link for Domain Name Transfers After you have purchased the hosting with us, you can also open a ticket at the help desk, and ask us to copy ( via cpanel-cpanel transfer) your site over.
-
As click says, your rewrite is incorrect. Also, I'm sure that isn't the complete line from your raw log file ... it should have some numbers next then some more text. What is that ?
-
Hi Ty, What's the second part of the log line ( the referrer ) ? Are they all similar ? What is your htaccess like ? Have you got any redirects there to * ?
-
The hosting should be renewed automatically ( assuming the payment details we have for you are still valid). If you want to check, change the renewals or anything, please open a ticket at the help desk ( link at the top of the page ) and ask the billing department.

What Are Authenticated Users In Awstats?
TCH-Andy replied to Ray_Bman's topic in CPanel and Site Maintenance
Basically they are users who have 'logged in' to a password protected area of your site. One 'feature' with awstats is that if someone tries to 'login' on a page that doesn't need it ( eg http: //me@yoursite.com ) then, since there was no error / rejection, awstats would log 'me' as an authenticated user. -
It sounds like you either have the syntax wrong somewhere in your .htaccess. If you open a ticket and tell us exactly what you want to achieve, we'll take a quick look for you ( or you can post here, with your complete .htaccess file ) If you post it here on the forum, remember to remove any sensitive info ( usernames etc).

Thanks for the update and well done Tom

Are you just moving from kmail on one to kmail on another computer ? If so you should find all the emails under /home/username/.kde/share/apps/kmail/mail/ ( or something close to that ) and you can just copy the inbox, sent items etc over. Jesse beat me to it

It depends on the status of the domain name. Usually there is a redemption period - where you can only purchase it through the existing domain name registrar. You pay for the hosting separately to the transfer / domain name registration ( it's not part of the same process ).
-
Welcome to the forums mke1963 As nortk says, you can upload as a single compressed file, and then uncompress on the server. SmartFTP should be able to handle uploading all the files separately though. If you still have a problem with it, please open a ticket at the help des ( link at the top of the page ) and we'll check if there is a reason we can find for it timing out on you.
-
It should be option 2) Discard with error to sender (at SMTP time) - if you still get new emails to invalid addresses being delivered - please open a ticket at get us to check it for you.
-
Welcome back and yes, you can move the accounts over and get them setup before flipping the DNS over

Hi Biff, You can't just point a domain to an IP address from the domain registration desk. From the domain registration, you need to define at least 2 nameservers ( These are the things that tell a computer what IP a domain is at ). If you have hosting for that domain with us, then youwould use our nameservers ( and we could point to any IP address for you). Since you are not hosting it with us, then it will not be using our nameservers. We don't provide nameservers for accounts not hosted with us. You could purchase the smallest hosting package from us, and then use our nameservers. Alternatively you can google for 'DNS service' or 'free DNS service' to find someone who will provide the nameservers for you.
-
That looks to be because you have a rewrite rule in your .htaccess to force adding the www to the URL.
-
It sounds like you have a '\' not a '/' Can you PM me ( click on the name above my logo to the left ... then send a message) and let me know domain name for the account you are having the fun with - I'll have a quick look at it for you.
-
Just to add to your first question, yes it is possible to host www3.collegename.edu as a domain name with us ( as long as you control the DNS for collegename.edu of course).
-
One and Two are true - Three is not. Making the changes will not affect where your email goes. One other option .... you could create a subdomain say sermons.venturavineyard.org which is hosted with us. Then if you linked to sermons.venturavineyard.org/july-2007.mp3 for example, it could still be hosted on our server .... if that makes sense ?

For the database error, you will need to login to your cpanel, go to the mysqldatabase section ( icon about 3/4 of the way down) and then create a database. You will also need to create a user ( on the same page as you create a database) and then add that user to the database ( again, the same page) giving it all permissions. With regards to that file ..... you really need to just keep a copy on your hard drive. If you ever have accidentally lock yourself out - you upload it at that point.
-
I'm slightly confused ... sorry. You say "I have a domain name hosted with TCH. I currently have the domain pointed set for DNS servers on a Windows host." so I'm not sure if it's hosted here ( from the first sentence) or hosted elsewhere ( from the second sentence). If you have the domain hosted with us, and using our nameservers, then you can simply open a ticket at the help desk and ask us to edit the DNS zone for you. If you don't use our nameservers, then it will depend who's you do use as to if / how you can edit them / get them edited for you. You can't simply point it to the IP from the domain registration control panel, no.
-
When an account is suspended ( because of any reason ) we simply have a message that says "Please contact the billing/support department as soon as possible." because it could be a billing or ( as is the case this time ) an issue where you need to contact the support desk. If you reply to the email we sent regarding this - we'll get it sorted for you.

Congratulations Not poor coding skills at all - your pages validated, so that's brilliant Many of my pages don't pass first time but I use them as a quick check, because they are far quicker for spotting issues than I am
-
You're welcome Nat With the checkers, I tend to run it through them before I've finished - especially if I'm having problems, often it will help identify where the problems are likely to be.
-
It could be either. I would boot in safe mode ( assuming you are running windows ) and see if it will run at the proper speed then, with nothing else running. If it won't then it's most likely hardware related. If it will, then it's software.
