  1. can you paste the log file for the FTP (crossing out any private info)
  2. Hi, Welcome to out forums. The sending of the email address as nobody@myhostsname.com in the from address should be set in the configuration - although the default will set up as from 'nobody' on many hosts. We provide oscommerce cart installation via cpanel, although you can upload and use a wide range of carts. These can be set to send out welcome emails. Tech support for server related issues is via our help desk (24/7) and you can usually get coding support on most topics via our forum here. If you are currently hosted using cpanel, then the complete account (including emails, databases, setup etc) can uaually be copied across.
  3. Hi Tim, Welcome to the forums. You would need a reseller account to host 4 different domains on the one account - or you would need 4 separate plans. Yes, you can restore tha backup here - or, if you upload it to your space, and open a ticket at the help desk, we'll restore it for you. If the old server is up and running - we could also try a direct cpanel - cpanel transfer for you. Yes, you can move your domain registrations over to us.
  4. It's a text file - with the name of your domain. Hence if the name is "tchdomain.com" that would be the name of the file - which windows would think is an executable file..... Just change the extension to .txt and you should be fine
  5. Welcome to the forums Try now - it should be all fixed. Generally, it's better to open a ticket at the help desk for sudden issues like that.
  6. Hi, welcome to our forums. I don't think bravenet uses cpanel. I'm not sure. The .htaccess is a simple ascii file, with the name .htaccess (note the dot infront of it) which should be uploaded in ascii to your root directory (ie, where your index.htm file is) Alternatively, you could always come to TotalChoice Hosting where we do use cpanel
  7. Welcome to the family Chris
  8. Hi Stacy, Welcome to the family I'd have a look at http://tucows.com -- and just search for HTML. That will list a whole range of freeware and shareware programs for web page development.
  9. You can upload them zipped, and then using filemanager (in cpanel) you can unzip them.
  10. Welcome to the forum
  11. There have been other suggestion topics, such as What would you like to see at TCH? but I think it would be better to add a new topic in the forum I suggested rather than reopening an old topic. (even though it does talk about suggestions for the family forum) We will take note of it wherever you place the suggestion.

  14. Welcome to the forum
  15. Hi, The " /home/<USER_NAME>/mail/inbox " file is your 'default' email account, if you have not changed it. ie. If you login to mail using your cpanel username and password. Yes, you can download a backup copy of any folders in the "mail" directory as a backup. Personally I would take a home backup - then it will take a copy of all email accounts, and your html files.
  16. Hi, I'm sorry that you are angry, and I can certainly understand a feeling a frustration. However, when a lot of spam email is sent out - which causes the server potentially to be blocked for all users we need to take action Please deal with this via the Help desk, we can not deal with it here, because Mods etc do not have full access to all areas.
  17. Welcome to the family

  19. Then it depends if you are on a network, or direct connection to the internet. Let us know how you get on with Patricia's suggestion. If that doesn't work - let us know if your ISP provides you with a dedicated IP, and if you go through a router to your PC.
  20. Hi, Do you mean the IP address of your computer? That depends on how your ISP allocates them. Or do you mean the IP address of your hosted account ?
  21. Weclome to the forum, Daphne Dick, and Don have said it all - I just wanted to say "Hi"
  22. Hi Gordon, Welcome to the forums Try just "/home/path-to-my-files/backup.sh" and you will need to ensure that the path /bin/sh is in the top of the shell file, and that the permissions are set correctly on the file to execute.
  23. Depending on how familiar you are with PHP you could check on the referrer, and then add a set of text, if they are coming from that site (or even display a different page)
  24. Hi, It looks as if your router is causing some of the issues. Are you on a local network? The 172.22 where your system is fainling usually is a private LAN.
  25. Hi, Open a ticket at the help desk, and include as much information as posible (FTP log, tracert, your IP) and we'll have a look at it. Edit: Dick beat me to it
