I believe they consider it to be some sort of fraud protection. Like someone couldn't use a stolen credit card.

If you are running Windows on your computer it will not run PHP files natively. You will need to install something like apache web server and mySQL to make it work. That said, it should work the same as here on the Linux servers. As for the other question I will defer that to someone who may know.

The public_ftp folder is for anonymous FTP which is disabled on the TCH servers. You can ignore it.

You can get the MT team to install it for you or you can try yourself and post your questions in the forums and someone will try to help you get it going. I had problems on one of my desktop computers yesterday. The only way to correct the issues was to remove the 1.0.1 and 1.0 version of Firefox and reinstall it. I removed my profile too. The other three machines had no problems.

Well, I take that back. It was working great and now my extensions are all screwed up. I've removed and reinstalled the browser but I cannot get the "Get more extensions" link to work.

Welcome to the forums. Enter your domain name when you purchase hosting. Once you purchase hosting you will receive an email so that you may access your new webspace via IP/~username address. Then you need to go where ever you purchased your domain name and change the domain name servers to the ones listed in the welcome email.

Purchase a separate account to use the domain name or upgrade to a reseller account.

The servers here at TCH will choose index.html first and if it doesn't exist will look for an index.php file. So yes, if you properly uploaded the fastfind files there is indeed an index.php page in that folder. The index.php file in the fastfind/admin folder is the control panel for fastfind. And my site is completely done in HTML and fastfind works properly.

I never was able to get Entrophy search to work well. I opted for a freeware search script called FastFind. http://www.interspire.com/fastfind/

Hi Kathy, you don't need to know the path to php. Just create your cron command using this for the command line. >php -q /home/yourusername/public_html/path-to-updateblacklist.php
