Lets keep the size of images in signatures down, prefferably no bigger then your average banner 468 x 60. not everyone is on a high speed connection and loading all of these signature images can take forever on dial up.

I think most people use them for tabbed browsing. Of course, Mozilla is the way to go for tabbed browsing, but some don't know that.

To The Linux Users... Which Distro Dio You Use?
TCH-Dick replied to lubox.com's topic in Operating Systems
I'm currently running SUSE on my Linux box, but getting ready to take Raul's suggestion from another post and try Fedora Core. -
Only way to avoid that is to not link to your site. You latest sig is a link back to your site and Google will folow it. All I can say is if don't want this forum to link to your site then DON'T link to your site. You are Directly responsible for all links back to your site from here. I just don't understand the the paranoia that some users here have about this subject. So everyone relax, no one is going to come here and then stalk you down. Well Rob might, he is a little weird.

How Do I Make A Windows Xp Partiton Bootable?
TCH-Dick replied to purplespider's topic in Operating Systems
Just out of curiosity, why did you install home and pro? Theres isnt that much difference in the two, pro has a few more admin tools and networking tools but they are both the same OS more or less. I have pro on 3 computers here and home on a fourth, i cant think of a time i have ever needed any of the "extra" stuff on xp pro. -

Well I got one one of those lovely emails today, that I simply hate. I'm talking about the type of email that everyone forwards without giving one thought about if it is fact or fiction. Here is part of the email. For those of you that have never seen this, the blue line is not part of this FCC law. This law has proved successful for some by being stretched to include email spam. Keep in mind that these were cases presented in Local or State small claims courts. Those that have been presented to Federal courts have not been enforced. The simple reason is that this law is for junk faxes not email. I have also seen several websites include this false statement on their site. These people have even included the following statement. As much as we would all like to run around handing out tickets like renegade Spam Cops, we can't. You can try suing based on this law but good luck. Some state do provide Spam laws but that does not allow you to bill someone. In closing, Please don't believe everything you read, do some research. http://www4.law.cornell.edu/uscode/47/227.html http://www.spamlaws.com/us.html

ok, here goes 1. Its not possible to choose which DC your site is located in, the set up is automated to ensure that sites are distributed evenly across servers. 2. Bruce nailed it. 3. Bruce again 4. In most cases we can do a cpanel to cpanel transfer. Some hosts dont allow it though. so if your current host has it blocked it wont work. Also its a good idea to make a backup of your site in case of problems with the transfer. Mailing lists and stuff like address books, guestbooks etc tend to not transfer well on occasion. 5. There are no plans that I'm aware of to switch to suPHP.

what mobo do you have and which slots do you have the ram in (doesnt matter if the mobo doesnt support dual chanel) latency isnt going to be thet great since you are running two different speeds of ram, whatever the cas on the 2700 is will be the cap on it. If your mobo allows it you can tweak the voltage to the memory, and could possibly get the 2700 up to 400mhz FSB. Also, what is the FSB on your cpu? If you are running the ram out of sync with the cpu that can also affect your latency.

That is as funny as this one.

Does the POST screen show when the computer is booting up? If it does get into the bios and set everything to default. If it doesnt show up you can clear the CMOS by either turning the computer off, unplugging it and removing the cmos battery for a few minutes, or find out what motherboard it has, look up the manual for it and see if it has a CMOS jumper. Then you would turn off the pc, unplug it, switch the jumper for a few seconds, switch it back then power it back up. Normally thats a dead video card problem, but clearing the cmos might fix it. If it doesnt and you have a spare video card try using it and see what happens.

Personally I'm looking forward to gmail. I dont care if a script scans the e-mail looking for keywords to show me adds (the adds by the way are less than 125 x 125 displayed on the right or left sidebar) It's not like someone is sitting and reading my e-mail.
