Have you tried Dodosmail? it comes with a sample test form, just edit the 2nd line of dodosmail.php to change to your e-mail adddress, and your are set, then modify the test form the way you want.

I have not run into this, and I download lage backups. Have you run into this while downloading large files from other sources? Are you using cpanel > backup > download a home backup?

Here is another thought. Can you use a forum like this one? You can restrict access to member approveds by you, and have back and forth conversations like this one.

As far as installing, you need to follow the install instructions on their site, step by step. The main thing is to go into the setup file config.pm and make the changes, but scroll down past the documentation in that file, about 50 lines or so. However from your discription,I am not sure that this will work for you. If you are sending that many e-mail per hour, you may need to use a specialty service geared toward heavy e-mail lists. I do not know of any off hand as I do not use group lists, only announce.
