In looking at his source code he is using your css style tags for hilite which you are using from an external file but he has no styles defined or linked to.

Have you tried leaving the field blank? I think that lets the gallery find ImageMagick as to the permissions error this may help, from the instructions this will take the setup out of the secure mode. Don't forget to put it back into the secure mode when you are done.
