  1. Could it be a TCH Family reunion, with Free air fare for everyone that needs it? (Fits the clue given earlier) So....where/when will it be held? Is it something to do with St. Pats day?
  2. I missed the avalanche question and purposely punched the shark even though I know that is so very wrong! They didn't even bother to explain WHY it is wrong. LOL! Guess I don't have to worry about avalanches in Florida and will be staying away from sharks for a while.
  3. Central Florida this week has been GLORIOUS! Lows in the 60's, highs between 75-82 degrees Slight breeze, clear, very few clouds, shirt sleeve temp, no humidity I even took Tuesday off to reorganize and clean my garage. Was absolutely what I needed....no office, no computer...clean fresh air and no slimy humidity. Even with the very high pollen counts (allergy ) I LOVE THIS WEATHER! Thomas you and I are polar opposites. I DREAD summer and am thankful for this spring. I feel alive and energized by the coolish air!
  4. ME TOO...I'll agree with Jim 100% on AVG. Converted to it from NAV on one computer and PC-cillin (Trend) on another machine, and would never consider going back.
  5. I just don't know how I will tell my parents about you!

    Memory

On the machine in question (CPU Type 1.2GHz Intel Celeron) I would stay with the pair of 256, instead of trying a single 512.
  7. Quick...Turn around! Let me help you get out of this costume before the guard finds us!
  8. You wouldn't be lion to me, would you? (Ok Curtis....That one's for you! And besides, who says reports always get it right! )
  9. Theme park will not press charges against foreign visitor found in seal habitat. She claimed she just wanted to get closer look.
  10. Winner of contest that claimed "Winner gets a gets a date with Seal" sues for fraud. She assumed the prize was a date with British singer Seal!
  11. Kim, blind since birth, finally gets to meet her chat room buddy in person!
  12. At this rate we'll never be ready for our performance on FOX's new reality series Dancing with the Seals.
  13. Have used other software from this site with success. Easy setup instructions on other scripts. Have not used this particular one from them... http://www.phpjunkyard.com/free-helpdesk-software.php
  14. LOL LOVE IT!!!! Shaved cat picture on K9 page Wonderful sense of humor! Would love to here what other things people have implemented.
  15. Recently I have had a sudden drain on bandwidth. Turns out that a few forums, couple guestbooks and some web pages (including one HOME PAGE) have hot links to some files on my tutorial site. One of the linked files is a silly video I use as an example and it is rather large, and seems quite popular. Last night I moved the full video to it's new location, and replaced the original file with a much smaller altered file using the same name. The video begins normally, but the background music has been replaced with a voice-over that says " THIS VIDEO IS STOLEN AND ENDS NOW!". Then goes BLACK, ending the transmission. For a week, vistors to those pages will find a disabled video and the webmasters will get the point. Once I remove the file, they will just get a red x, but in the meantime, I will have my revenge on these thieves! And I can afford a bit of bandwidth for this venture. Got the idea from one of the several threads that describe how to block certain sites from hot linking. One of the threads told how to make a replacement image. Thought it could be applied to other formats too! Thanks for the idea!
  16. Yup.....borrow a neighbor's keyboard/mouse for a few minutes. Pays to have friendly relationships. (Most cordless mouse and keyboards require batteries. They wear out and make the cursor do wacky things. But my current mouse at home is cordless, and uses no batteries! I love it! It uses optical sensors, and glides on a magnetic pad! Very lightweight and responsive! Very cool looking too....lights up red internally)
  17. I have had many similar situations, caused by three different things! 1) Keyboard got a staple in it. Was making partial contact and was locking up functions. Mouse would stay in one spot or get lost. Apparently the staple was near the arrow keys sending the cursor to neverland. Resolution: Shook out the keyboard (found the staple) then vacuumed it well. Rebooted machine. Worked fine. 2) Replaced mouse on one machine to resolve, replaced batteries and reset mouse to resolve on a different machine. 3) Power. My monitor would lock, mouse would stop moving all functions would freeze. Sometimes it would release, sometimes my monitor would suck into the center like a black hole going totally black then coming back, but usually just had to reboot to get things back. Resolution: We had added more equipment to the office and too much was plugged into the same circuit. Not enough juice to handle it all. Moved one computer system onto another circuit and no longer freezing!
  18. Final result... No password/image or javascript either. Used the complete MAILTO obfuscation - combination of Hexadecimal and ISO characters from this page. http://www.seowebsitepromotion.com/obfuscate_email.asp Client likes result: - visually plain email link, using staff name for link - has floating tooltip for each link that says "click here to email Bill", etc. - preloaded subject in email I have warned him that eventually a spambot will capture those addresses. (hopefully it will be a while) He accepts that and is content. In the end, if he is happy, that is all that counts. Thanks for the input and opinions.
  19. So glad it was resolved. By the way, TCH has a section of the forum specifically set up for CSB users. It's helpful to post in that area because sometimes we fellow users of the product may have specific answers to your question which might not be applicable to other web site building programs or html editors. And GlobalSCAPE also has an extensive forum for issues with CSB too. http://forums.globalscape.com/default.aspx The best decision you made for your site is to host it here!
  20. Clarification..... NO contact form of ANY type.
  21. The owner of the company will not allow me to make a PHP form for them (my preference). Will make a sample that offers the encryption and the password technique and give him the choice. Even if it is not as secure in the long run, I expect he will go with encryption because it will not be obvious to his visitors. Thanks for input folks!
  22. I was not going to ASK him about the new idea...just implement it. Then have him test it. If it is simple he will agree. He thinks it would cause 2-3 spams a day to a few addresses and will not accept that it's possible to get more than that per day! He has never published the addresses in print and has never had a site before. If he only wanted one general address, I would go ahead and make it public. If I just throw his 16 employee emails out on the web, live open links, spammers will eat them up. In good conscience, I can not do that for so many addresses. Sometimes you just have to protect someone from that kind of MAJOR problem! Yes the encoding issue has the downside that some people have things turned off and do not know how to turn them on. That's why I thought of the simple password to get to the email address page. No problems with blocking...allow customers in, keep spam bots out. Can you see any downside to doing that?
  23. I am building a site for a small company that has provided me with a list of 16 individuals that need to be identified on their website. The owner of the company will not allow me to make a PHP form for them. He insists that he wants individual email links for these 16 people! Though I have tried to explain the result of this very poor decision, he insists. I have looked at encoders, obfiscators, etc even found a very cool version that allows you to require the user to fill in the letters shown in the picture (the challenge) which bots would not be able to do.... http://w2.syronex.com/jmr/safemailto/ BUT....Couldn't I go the easy way.... List the names, addresses, phones for each person and provide link that says GET EMAIL ADDRESS. Tell them to fill in the password (text shown in a jpg image) to access the email link. The password code could be ASP or PHP for the individual email address page, and the code would not show in the webpage itself. Even if linked from an outside source, a password would still be necessary to access the page. The protected page would have regular mailto: links on it. Bots would not be looking for a password like that and since the email links themselves would be unavailable to the bots, they would be safe from harvesters. Anyone see a downside to this? Do I need to post a sample?
  24. FINAL RESULT: All problems stemmed from NORTON INTERNET SECURITY SUITE. Somehow its stored date information was corrupted. After hours on the phone with their support, several false starts and learning a foreign language (to understand tech), he replaced a few Norton files on the system, and all is running again. Month and a half later, but at least the machine is functional again! Thanks for input.
  25. I came in through cpanel, chose Horde and looked through the folders. The folders repeat. But I did not remove anything for fear I would disable a function set up by cpanel. When I use Squirrelmail I enter through a piece of code I have placed on a webpage and it works well: <body onLoad="self.focus();document.forms[0].login_username.focus()"> <form method="post" action="http://serverXX.totalchoicehosting.com/sqmail/src/redirect.php"> <input type="hidden" name="js_autodetect_results" value="0"> User Name: <input type="text" onBlur="add_domain();" name="login_username" size="20"><br><br> Password: <input type="password" name="secretkey" size="20"><br><br> <input type="submit" value="Webmail Login" style="background: blueviolet; color: white; font-size: 1.2em"> </form> Is there an equivalent code for Horde?
