  1. When I was away from home, I logged into my email through cPanel and used Horde. I responded to a couple emails that came in on my ___@samisite.com account by simply hitting reply as usual. A few days later, I received notice from one person that the email address I replied from was non-functional. She tried to answer my reply and the email came back as not valid. She went back to my website to report this through one of my web forms. Turns out that the reply I made to her using HORDE generated an email address of mycpanelaccountname@samisite.com instead of the email address that was assigned to the original email. Why would HORDE send an email out using that account name? I do not have an email account setup using that and certainly do not want people I email to have that information. How do I prevent that from happening again? I have not had that problem with SquirrelMail but thought I would try Horde for a while since it has more features.
  2. Not so much accident prone....more poor coordination at high speeds. Or wet conditions. Or both. I could sit a horse well and was coordinated for that. Fell off only once in many years during a cross country ride, and only because while at a canter, my horse shied at a cow that appeared suddenly from behind a large bushy outcropping, scaring the horse with a loud snort. Three of us were thrown. All of us got back on and finished the ride. - I went through the first 6 years of my life with skinned knees. Any time I ran, I fell! - Got small group of scars on my elbow from falling hard into gravel, embedding rocks. - Have fallen out of my front door (sisal door mat got wet underneath and flew out from under me). - Sprained ankle 3 times in 3 years on my birthday (as a kid)....each time jumping off a rope swing into a HUGE pile of leaves and twisting foot on impact. (It would happen after MANY hours of playing outside, many successful jumps from the swing) Fourth year my mohter wouldn't let me out of the house all day! - I always have a bruise coming or going somewhere on my body, yet amazingly, I don't remember how I get them. And could list SOOOOO many more examples of KLUTZ. Very uncoordinated.

  4. Or tripping over your cat and breaking your hand....My brother did this a few weeks ago. Or falling face first down a flight of stairs with a concrete pad waiting at the bottom of the steps...I was saved by a GALLON jug of water that I was carrying. That hand flew in front of my body, my face landed in the dented side of the water jug and my feet were way above my head on the stairs, skirt folded down over my head! By the way my other hand could not be felt...had no idea where it was, but when I righted myself I found that it had gotten shoved into my purse. Or spraining your hand square dancing.....I did that one several years ago. Or breaking your foot by jumping over a trickle of water and landing wrong. Yup I did that one too! Or slamming down on (bad) left knee because your body was still traveling but the grip of the shoe caused your feet to stop suddenly....Yea....Me again..... All of these events have been witnessed....talk about feeling foolish! Did I mention I am Queen Klutz AND am glad that I stopped sky diving when I did:?

  7. Yes. You can delete it so it is not necessary to have the recycle bin in the send to menu. I was just surprised that the send to menu would not show it in XP when in previous versions it would.
  8. That's already available and known. What started it was a discussion about a TIP in some newsletter about dragging the file to the taskbar, holding it there while all windows minimize then moving the file you are holding into the recycle bin on the desktop. I told the person that was nice but to much a time waster for me. The old send to is preferable....but hten it did not work in XP.
  9. In the past when using Windows I could put a shortcut to my recycle bin in my SEND TO context menu. I told someone about it this morning and it does not seem to work for Windows XP. The shortcut is in my send to folder, but will not appear when I right click on a document. Any ideas????
  10. ok. will do.
  11. I went to pull in my raw log on our lambertusa.com site from December and it is missing. September-November are archived but December is not there. Any way to get that? And why would it not be there?
  12. As to browsers...his banking will not accept other than IE. He reinstalled his IE browser, no change. One of the first things we did was clear cache, history and even passwords. He has a nearly empty harddrive, XP, SP2, firewall off or on makes no difference. Yes. I agree. I have NEVER run into a problem like this. VERY strange that he can download, update and log in while in Safe Mode with networking but once in normal mode it no longer works...Usually that means that something that loads on normal start is interferring... Maybe I should have him UNCHECK all startup items ... What do you think? Used to be able to do that with WIN98...how about XP? Maybe with nothing set to load on start, he should try to access his email. In the mean time, I told him to burn cd's of stored data (has no backup external drive) then prepare to restore the machine to original configuration if we can't come up with any other answer..
  13. WOOOOHOOO. Just checked back today to see what number we were up to only to find my name was picked! THANK YOU!!!
  14. Found out that a coworker's home machine is giving him fits. Suddenly he can surf the net but can not access his gmail email or do online banking. Also his live update (Norton Antivirus) will not connect to update and he can not download files from the web. Says he has not installed any software, no change to hardware. I had him run AdAware SE (already had it on his machine) found nothing. Would not connect to get new updates. Had him go into SAFE MODE and run AdAware again. nothing. Had him go into SAFE MODE with networking and he was able to update AdAware, WAS able to get into gmail emails and was able to download updates for his antivirus. Display goofy (640...) but eveything works. First time in almost 2 weeks since he's been able to access it. Sent him spybotsearchanddestroy in email. He installed it in NORMAL mode then ran it in SAFE MODE. nothing. Returned to NORMAL mode and back to square one. Can't access or download. Now Norton says it is not updated again as though the files we updated in safe mode are not there. Unchecked several items in his startup, checked his IE settings, nothing I could see would prevent his access to online emails and banking and downloading. Any suggestions?? Is there a better place for me to post this kind of question.
  15. 82..... the year I graduated from college.... is it still a lucky number ?
  16. And I wasn't even entered! Hey wait a minute...usually when you WIN without entering it's one of those just pay shipping and handling, taxes and fees that coincidently costs as much as if you bought directly to begin with..... But heck, I Win! so that's all that counts!
  17. Anyone interested in taking part with the CSB 5 beta should visit the Globalscape forum. The beta testing has begun. Read about it here and download the file: http://forums.globalscape.com/tm.aspx?m=4159 NOTE: if you already have CSB or Trellix on your computer it will need to be UNINSTALLED to run the beta of CSB5. So if you have a second computer, I recommend you use that.
  18. Yes I do know how terrific you and your staff can really be!!! The web has always been a constantly changing environment. Scripts constantly are updated and replaced or patches are released to fix vulnerabilities in browsers, email systems, forms, bulletin boards, chat rooms, shopping carts and more. Seems we are constantly trying to patch holes found by nasty folk with evil intent. Even folks with the best of intent and taking responsibility for their accounts, trying to keep up with all the necessary security issues can fall behind and get "gotten". I am delighted that backups would be accepted. I wasn't sure what would happen once your site has been "cracked". Knowing that puts my mind at ease. Knowing that TCH is working on their side to protect/maintain top-notch systems while we are trying on our side to protect our sites is comforting. But more so, to have a staff that does understand crapple is PRICELESS.
  19. If different site is compromised in the same fashion, say an outdated script allowed access, etc. I understand that site would need to be cleared out to protect everyone. I'm thankful for that policy! If the site builder had a backup of the site (lets say a complete backup was made every month) would one of the backups be allowed onto the server, with the caveat that the vulnerable script be removed/updated? How far back would the backup need to be? Or would the site not be allowed back on TCH server anyway?
  20. I have had a family/close friend only email address for years. Worked like a charm. But recently, one of my non-tech family members put my address into a FREE greeting card site for my birthday. Now I am getting 20-30 spam on that account daily that get through my spamkiller program.
  21. The pinks went away, I blinked and they were all back! COOL.
  22. OH YES.... They lived in upper ALASKA for 8 years, moved to West Palm Beach several years ago when my grandparents were getting up in years and is itching to leave the state now that they are gone. The storms have put a final seal on what was a what if.
  23. So glad you and yours made it thru!!! Last year aunt and uncle had some minor property damage and no power for 2 weeks with no generator either. This year they lost part of a roof and no power for only a week. He gave a choice to my aunt....choose where they are going to move to....North or South Dakota, Montana or Idaho! He's had enough and I expect within the next few months they will have decided where they are headed!
  24. You originally asked: No you do not need to start over. The problems you are experiencing are not CSB related. They are also not TCH related. The codes you have inserted are fine. But the extra features you have added to your site that are hosted by other companies can cause malfunctions on your website, including freezing, or improper loading of web pages when the other site is unavailable. Some of the sites that host guestbooks, etc tend to run slowly which affects how your site loads. Consider installing scripts that run here on your TCH website to handle your counter and guestbook needs.
