Ok step by step. Lets take a close look at the rules of the contest. Pretty darn simple set of rules huh? I thought so. Nothing was stated about adding images to the captions. There were a about a even number of caption only vs photo added + caption. If the mods or myself would have had issues with the entries we would have disqualified them as the contest moved along. Perhaps you should not have assumed so much. Like I said above there were many entries with photo additions. This would have been viewed as stealing another entries content and your post would have been void. I personally never have judged a caption contest. However, I viewed every entry on the same level. To be honest the entry that won was a terrible attempt at photo editing. It was the caption that made me laugh. It was the posters post that caught my attention. I have learned a very good lesson in all of this. I am not the best judge in the world This comment is the one that sent me in orbit. The poster is right, we do run our servers better than our contest. That is why we will stick to running servers and not contests. You know the funny thing is. Everyone loves to complain, but very few people remember how to say thank you. I will repost what was posted earlier. Live and Learn.....

Follow Up. After reading the post about the giveaway, I was very upset today, actually almost in tears. The bad thing about the internet is the ability to post while ticked off. I am sorry if I offended anyone. I did not intend to do that, but it just felt like others did not care if they offended me. But as the leader of the familly here, I should have shown more restraint. I have had time to reflect and wish to reconcile. I have reopened this topic and welcome your input at this time. Bill

Hi, We have closed the threads on the computer giveaway contest. The winner has been notified via email. In the past we have given away - xbox, yearly hosting accounts, dvd burners and more. With each contest there has been a stink about how the contest winner was chosen. So we went to a panel of judges. That still didnt help, people still complained. This last round was enough to push me over the edge. I chose a winner based on what I thought was the funniest entry. However, contestants did not like the fact that the winner that was chosen had added a photo in the background. So here we are. Once again people complaining over why they didnt win. At this point I am not likely to run another contest on the forums. It simply hurts to much to dig into my wallet and pull out 15 $100 bills and know that the entire process led to this. I am sad. Someone posted "I am glad you run your servers better than your contest". It simply shows me that the time has come to cease the contest on our forums. Bill

You will need to allow up to 72 hours for the DNS to updates to take effect. Once they have updated you will then be able to access you site via your domain name. Until then use the IP address as listed in your welcome email.. BTW...your sig scared the poop out of me.

Replace the mobo its bad.

At this point we have no plans of offering SSH to new clients. The developer package would only be offered to current clients and would not extend to new family members. It is much more a security risk to offer SSH to clients then for clients to send a password over clear text. Our clients have the ability to change passwords on the fly at will in their control panel and we also offer ssl connections for all our virtual servers. Good luch in your search for a new host.

Well I can tell you that the DNS is working. Since its been less than 72 hours I would suggest you wait and if it is not cleared up by wednesday than you shouild submit a help ticket.

Hi, We do not offer reseller plans on a yearly term. The only plans offered on a yearly term are the virtual hosting accounts. The reseller plans are not offered on a yearly term as we have found the turnover to be very high on reseller plans. Resellers tend to upgrade more often. Either by moving to a larger plan or even to a dedicated server. Thanks for considering our services.

Drop a technical support ticket in and we can add the theives IP address to our firewall. He will then no longer be able to view any site on the TCH network. That is until he swaps IP's. But still, until he does we can have a little fun.

This would be my first post using the new Apple. So far I really like everything about the pc. The build quality is good, the keyboard is amazing. Its taking some getting used to moving from a windows os notebook to os x notebook, but so far I am loving it. Had one small glitch, I was unable to mount any disk images. I ended up having to re-install os x 10.3 I will post more as I work my way thru this nice little machine.

Joe, The guys are right not much can be done. One night about two weeks ago I had the same issue getting to the tch main site. It cleared up in about 4 hours. Call your ISP and start whining. Tell them to get Williams Communications Group to fix the dead router. You can bet your next generation processor that wcg knows about the issue but have your isp put some pressure on them.

Site is not down. I was able to view your site from my mobile att connection without issue. Yes even on a trip to the doctor I bring my laptop and a cellular connection. Could you post a trace route for me? As your site is up for me, I can only assume its a routing issue from your ISP to the Server. Bill

We have been testing the uptime reports since 11/15 and so far it looks good. We will be rolling this out in the next couple days. I would like for eveyone to know that on 12.01.2003 we will be resetting the server uptimes. This will give us a fresh start. Have you ever looked at something and said "yea right"! Thats just cant be right? We gave that very same question some serious thought and decided to outsource our server uptime monitoring to Alertra. Alertra is one of the most respected names in Server Monitoring. Soon we will be placing a monitoring certified logo on our pages. Just one more way that TCH stands above the rest.
