Head Guru Posted September 28, 2003 Posted September 28, 2003 Hi, Effective Monday September 29, 2003 the following services will be removed from all cpanel servers. webalizer stats analog stats I have given this much thought and even ran some user polls in the forums back a few months ago. At that point we determined that AWSTATS was the most prefered stats program. We will be keeping AWSTATS as the official web stats package. Running all three stats package is causing the servers to run higher loads than I would like to see, also by running all three more disc space is used as there are three sets of stats to store. Thanks for your contuned support. Bill
webgyrl Posted September 29, 2003 Posted September 29, 2003 Thanks for the heads up Bill. AwStats is indeed the best I've come across for accurate and detailed stats Nat
Deverill Posted September 29, 2003 Posted September 29, 2003 It's not an elimination of services, HG, it's an upgrade of performance! I doubt many use the others so the impact will probably be small. Thanks for the message and for watching our performance issues so closely! Rock Sign
n2access Posted September 29, 2003 Posted September 29, 2003 Of the three stats programs, you picked the right one to keep. AWSTATS is far superior to the other two. Jerry
vendlus Posted September 29, 2003 Posted September 29, 2003 Of the three stats programs, you picked the right one to keep. Indeed.
TCH-Rick Posted September 30, 2003 Posted September 30, 2003 All servers have been changed. AWStats should be the only stats program listed in CPanel now.
WAdotcom Posted September 30, 2003 Posted September 30, 2003 I agree, AWSTATS is the best and should be the only one there. The other web stat logs are a waste.
ztrauq Posted October 5, 2003 Posted October 5, 2003 Personally, I like analog, but AWStats seems to get the job done, and it'd definitely less confusing to do the stats this way. I just wanted to mention that if anyone is missing the other programs, Analog can be run as a standalone app on Linux and OSX (and maybe windows) - I'm pretty sure you can download it for free, and it should work fine with downloaded raw log files.
