  5. No problems visiting the site from Sweden. If you do a traceroute and post it here, we could try to see where the problem is. A guide on how to do a traceroute can be found here. By the way, you are on server 103.
  6. On Tuesday (June 17) Firefox 3 is supposed to be released unless something unexpected happens. If you are using Windows, and wants to check if your extensions etc are ready for the upgrade, please do this: 1. Download Firefox Portable Edition 3 Release Candidate 2 from (http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/firefox_portable/test) since the stable version will probably very close to this RC. 2. Double-click your downloaded copy. Select the location you wish to install to and click OK (personally I installed it to C:\Program\FirefoxPortableTest). 3. Copy All files and folders under your Firefox 2 user profile to C:\Program\FirefoxPortableTest\Data\profile (or where you installed it). Do not move, only copy! 4. Start your portable Firefox by double-click on FirefoxPortable.exe in your FirefoxPortableTest folder. 5. Check for updates for your extensions as you do normally. 6. To remove the portable Firefox from your computer when not wanted/needed anymore or something went wrong when you installed it, just remove the FirefoxPortableTest folder. NOTE: When using the portable version they say that the "real" version should not be used at the same time, so run only one of them at once. Have Fun & Good Luck.
  7. First of all, sorry that I assumed in an earlier post that the version in Fantastico was 1.5.x while it´s 1.0.x and I therefor could not help much with joomla since my "1.5" project was dropped. I have another installation based on the 1.0.x which I can help you with. When version 1.5 was released the above (dropped) project was still online and I thought about upgrading it to 1.5. I found instructions on how to upgrade, here but it looked like a nightmare, so while this site was still new and not officially open, I decided to build it from scratch in 1.5. I´m not sure which would have been the fastest. But with this in mind I know that if I am to install a new joomla installation today I would go for 1.5. Bruce is correct, there are much more themes and extensions for 1.0 but the 1.5 versions of themes and extensions gets more and more and since they will drop 1.0 some day, the developers of themes and extension must also make their stuff comaptible.
  8. The site has been added to the personal section. Please verify that the link and description looks/works as expected.

  13. Hi Kasey, It was a long time since I saw you here in the forums. I hope all is well with you. While I have some experience with joomla, it was some time ago I worked with it due to the project was dropped and I currently have no version 1.5 installed I can´t help you much but I would start by checking out the Joomla! v 1.5 Quick Start Guide pdf file, found here (scroll down to "Complete the Joomla! v 1.5 Quick Start Guide") and see if it help you a little. Joomla is tricky in the beginning, but when you get the hang of it, its nice to work with.

  16. Don´t know since I use one the alternative versions but the Secunia site said so.
  17. vBulletin 3.7.1 PL1 / vBulletin 3.6.10 PL1 has been released. From their announcement: The recent discovery of an obscure method in which to expose a cross-site scripting (XSS) error in vBulletin when using specific browser software means that it is necessary to release Patch Level (PL) versions of both 3.7.1 and 3.6.10. Although it is difficult to exploit the XSS flaw, and the potential for exposure and damage is limited, we nonetheless recommend that customers upgrade to protect themselves. 18. From: Secunia (secunia.com/advisories/29293/) Rating: Highly critical Description: Some vulnerabilities have been reported in Apple QuickTime, which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a user's system. 1) A boundary error when parsing packed scanlines from a PixData structure in a PICT file can be exploited to cause a heap-based buffer overflow via a specially crafted PICT file. 2) An error in the processing of AAC-encoded media content can be exploited to cause a memory corruption via a specially crafted media file. 3) A boundary error in the processing of PICT files can be exploited to cause a heap-based buffer overflow via a specially crafted PICT file. 4) A boundary error in the processing of Indeo video codec content can be exploited to cause a stack-based buffer overflow via a specially crafted movie file with Indeo video codec content. 5) An error in the handling of "file:" URLs can be exploited to e.g. execute arbitrary programs when playing specially crafted QuickTIme content in QuickTime Player. Successful exploitation of these vulnerabilities may allow execution of arbitrary code. Solution: Update to version 7.5 or use Quick Time Alternative or Quick Time Lite instead when they have been updated.
