My thunderbird could be updated through the "check for..." button. Are you sure you are not running the new version already, using a beta or such? If so, then it might not say there is a new version out.

If I understand you correct... If you can see it in the ftp program, can you also change permissions through the ftp or did you only try changing them through cpanels file manager? If you can change the permissions through the ftp program, does it work as expected then? Is the folder "hidden". I am thinking that the ftp program may be set to show hidden files and folders while cpanel is not. If it works as expected in the ftp and the folder is not hidden, please open a ticket and ask the techs to look into it.

Someone could have done that yes. Do you have a forum or anything similar (ie a place where others can communicate)? I would ask the helpdesk if they can see if the site seems to have been compromised.

Kaspersky Internet Security (KIS) just warned me when I tried to visit the site. KIS told me the site contains "Trojan-Downloader.HTML.IFrame.ds" so that could be why.

Rumours now says that Service Pack 3 will not be available on Windowsupdate today due to some compability issues Microsoft wants to solve first, but it should come available on their Download center today. Personally I can wait since Swedish won´t be available until middle of next week.

I would personally reformat it and reinstall everything I wanted back providing I have backups/access to the installation files of all programs.

Here in Sweden the show "Battle of the Choirs", which is a game show where choirs with only amateurs are battling other choirs, are on TV this spring. The only professional people are the leaders of the choirs (famous musical people in Sweden). In the show last friday, "Team Cans" sung Carl Orffs "O Fortuna" (in latin I think). As for being a bunch of amateurs, I think they did pretty well.

This would be a question for the techs so please open a ticket and they will tell you.
