We'll Need A New "hurricane" Topic If This Keeps On!

If it's any comfort, last night as the sun was going down, the rays reflected off the clouds from the storm...very beautiful sight. On the down side, I'll be heading to Jacksonville later today. Think I'll wait as long as I can! Stay safe you guys! -
Upgrading The Server's Php Version?

At the risk of sounding redundant, as David pointed out in an early post this topic has been beaten to death. TCH will be staying with the most STABLE version of PHP. When (and if) TCH decides to upgrade, a notice will be made WELL in advance. With several thousand customers, you can understand why this has to be this way. -
Welcome to the forums! If your using this as a home network, then either one should satisfy your needs. I have a wireless card I use in my laptop for work, so I have a 802.11g basically for backwards compatibility.

I'd go ahead and put in a ticket just to let the techs make sure there is nothing funny in that database. Also in your ticket, specify which ones you want deleted.

Welcome to the forums! That's how I do it as, unfortunately, most of the world revolves around Micro$oft.

Sorry to hear that. Yes, some people have no life! Backups are only a part of web site security. Make sure that you are running the latest updated software (wordpress, php-nuke, etc.) and their applicable patches. After all, if you back up the open door that you already have, you'll have the same "welcome mat" out when you restore your site.

Our local ECHL (minor league) team had it's home opener last night. Wow...what a difference! Apparently the ECHL is still using last year's rules. The game featured a lot of problems that the NHL put an end to and as a result it was very slow. Still, it's hockey and being able to see it played in person without paying the equivelant of a car payment is refreshing. Unfortunately, Greenville (SC) beat us. Thanks, Rick!

Port #26 is one of the "common" ports for email. Many ISP's are changing this from 25 to 26 now to help combat spam. (The jury's still out on how well it is working! )

From a google search, look here.

Thanks for the update Wayne!

Check your local area's Ham Radio Clubs and see if anyone one might want it. I know some ham operators (especially the older ones) who don't want to invest the money in a new one like to pick up bargains like this.

We'll Need A New "hurricane" Topic If This Keeps On!
stevevan replied to Deverill's topic in Open Discussion
Well, I'm at home in the panhandle this weekend and gonna watch it SAFELY from here. Although it IS supposed to get downright chilly sunday morning...mid 40's. (I hear all the snickers. ) I was listening to the satellite radio on the way home today and Fox News interviewed a gentleman from Palm Beach I believe. He said he had an invention that would help the hurricane implode itself. Apparently it's a type of absorbant that when dispersed over regular (rain) water, it turns into a gel, then falls into the ocean, where it will not harm plant or animal life and dissolves over about a week. The idea is to spray it into only one quarter of the storm and then basically the storm would turn on itself. The goal is to weaken it enough so the destructive properties are gone, but the beneficial rain is not. Funny thing is the scientists are about 50-50 split on the idea. So who knows? -
From what I understand (and have played with)...pretty much. See this thread also.

Welcome to the forums from someone else who not only runs a soccer club web site, but a soccer referee one as well! Bruce's suggestion is probably the easiest. The Help Desk should get you quickly squared away.
